DCA-BOS
BOS is neither a "small market" nor a Delta hub, though Delta has a sizable presence there.
There are 10 DCA-BOS roundtrip flights a day, and I can't imagine they'll cut them all. I hope not. In contrast to the other poster earlier, I find Delta flights to Boston typically comparable to or cheaper than USAir's.
For last-minute leisure weekend travel, Delta's flights are frequently half the price of USAir's.

I'm curious about this too...BOS-DCA is NOT considered a Shuttle flight on DL, but I hope they don't cut it entirely. Otherwise, that's BOS-PHL, BOS-BWI, and BOS-DCA lost in about 6 months; that's about 20% of my flying.

Very excited for this transition to happen. I had to fly US out of LGA last week and was reminded how much nicer their facilities are compared to DLs cramped terminal.
The terminal itself is a bit more spacious with better food options. I am really excited for the new club facility as well. The USair club is along a wall of windows that looks out onto the runway with a nice long bar that is far away from the business center. Much, much, much better than DL's small, windowless pit of a SkyClub.

Integration Trouble at DCA?
I get the impression that Delta must be having trouble with the integration at DCA. NWA was supposed to move from Terminal A over to Terminal B first in September, then October; now, NWA is supposed to move to Terminal B o/a 8 December according to the NWA website.

The prospect of DL moving out of MAT is extremely upsetting to me. I fly RT from there every week -- I was thrilled that they added MDW too. I wish all of my flights could go out of MAT! Its so easy and so efficient!!! I was there yesterday.
I always take the first flight out -- my return varies. But, I park in lot 6, which is such a breeze, well lit and safe. I am through security in a matter of minutes, so I don't have to be there so early. Its incredibly efficient!!
Moving the shuttle into the DL/NW terminal means lines, delays, aggravation and relying on a car service because I won't park in lots 4 or 5.
I never fly US Air -- but for this aspect of my life, I may have to switch...

Any updates on the LGA transition? Or when the construction of the people bridge between Delta terminal and USAir terminal is supposed to begin?

Will Delta be moving their Ireland flights from JFK to LGA to open up more international route slots at JFK?

This would never happen. Biggest issue is that everyday but Saturday, the only flights longer than 1500 miles permitted out of LGA are to Denver. Aside from a 7000 ft runway being pretty short for a trans-Atlantic service, and I tend to doubt you'd ever see any trans-Atlantic flying out of LGA for right now. If anyone were to launch it, I'd guess it would be BA moving their LCY-JFK service to LGA, but again that would only happen if the perimeter rule is lifted.

Is Delta still planning on building a physical people bridge between the Delta terminal and the old US Air terminal?
