Do United miles count toward silver, gold, etc status levels?

Did not get a clear answer to this over the phone. I often travel on United for business, but am using Delta more & more. Can I fly on United, but count those miles as credit toward elite status on Delta?
Thanks

To put it simply, no. Any miles earned on United will not count towards Medallion levels.

The same is certainly true of the reverse (Mileage Plus points earned on Delta do not count for United Premier status -- even if you beg )

This is one of the BIG reasons why this *ALLEGED* Delta/United alliance gets a big FOUR PAWS DOWN from the CATMAN. Why have an alliance if there are few benefits (and one big lacking one: The chance to fly both and choose to get elite on ONE.)

Just my opinion and I'm stickin' to it!!

interesting that UA is still giving 2x miles (on UA) on the delta shuttle--I wonder if access to those flyers wasn't most of the reason for the combination. Frequent shuttle flyers probably don't care so much about Premier/Medallion upgrades
