I don't know what's the big deal...it's a safety video. It's a little edgy, but something that is not so great. It must be a slow news week because I read about it from "news" sites.

In one of the articles, they actually took a quote from someone who commented on this thread on FT! However, there was a mgt. consultant/prof from Touro College which said she was "beautiful".

Now, has she been beaten with the ugly stick? No. However, she is certainly not my idea of beauty nor so "beautiful" for it to be "ground breaking".

I think it's great that the video is getting some "real" press. And I'm sure that DeltaFreak (who is quoted himself of course) had a hand in getting atl runner's FT quote in the article.

BTW, she was with a male companion when I met her...maybe she broke up with him or maybe that was her brother!!!
That's cool that she mentioned you in her quote. By most definitions, "single" means "not married" so I'm guessing she was probably with her boyfriend.

At any rate, I thought the last quote (from her) in the article was nice:
"It's been kind of interesting. With students I'm teaching, I feel like a rock star. I wanted to do this since the first day I became a flight attendant. Ten and a half years later, I finally made it."
I can relate to this. A lot of my work is training courses and even though my subject matter is even more mundane than airline safety, teaching does make me feel (a little bit) like a rock star especially when compared to the other consulting work I do. I think I've actually said that before. But I don't think I'll ever have my 15 minutes of fame from teaching the stuff I teach. And by the way, I think Ms. Lee is getting a a lot more than 15 minutes of fame for this one.

Kudos to her and Delta.

New Delta Safety Message Makes it to Youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgpzUo_kbFY

Updated video well done. All FA's in video are real DL FA's, not actors. I like the no smoking finger wag in the middle.

Atlanta Journal Constitution article announcing the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgpzUo_kbFY

Safe travels....

Thumbs up

It also cracks me up when the flight attendant in the aisle shakes her head and says "You cannot smoke. I'm so sorry."

Overall, a good video :-)

That really is the best part because besides from a few flights to NRT, OTP, KBP, DXB, where that situation may arise...the majority of DL customers will think that is an absurd scenario!! Plus, the FA makes it seem so funny the way she says it so formally.

As mentioned by DeltaFreak in milepost 106, this line is the only unscripted line in the video. It just seemed sort of odd to me, since it is such an absurd scenario.

Fox News just did a live interview with Katherine and another DL employee a little while ago.

She's not only very pretty but exceptionally well-spoken. She mentioned that she is currently training other FA's in the ATL area.

Wouldn't surprise me if she gets a TV contract as a talking head or more out of this whole thing.

There is an interview on foxnews.com with Deltalina. Check it out. Her name is Katherine L.... (not sure why I'm not posting it here since it's on the interview--just like being cautious), She is single, is a flight instructor for FAs, and is based in Atlanta. Chris Babb--who is the Delta person who put the video together, is also in the interview.

Deltaline auditioned for the part and was one of ten finalists before being selected.

There have been over 200,000 hits on youtube of the safety video, which has totally amazed both her and everyone at Delta. It is scheduled to begin showing on flights next month.

She hopes to marry ClipperDelta

"Smoking is not allowed on this or any Delta flight..."^

atl runnerdid you see that you were quoted in the AJC article?
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...792797&page=12

The "Deltalina" video is on the front page of FoxNews.com (I can't get it to load right now).

Wow, thanks AndyTLe. I totallly missed it. Too much attention to March Madness, I guess. Yes, that was my quote, and now that we know that Deltalina is an FA instructor/trainer, we can rest comfortably knowing that the finger wag is being taught by the world's best.

5 sexiest in-flight safety videos ever
http://www.elliott.org/blog/5-sexies...y-videos-ever/

1. Delta Air Lines

Rating: 5 (out of 5)

What’s sexy: Angelina Jolie lookalike has a gleam in her eye as she discusses water evacuation.

What’s not: nothing.

My hometown "jock" radio morning program did a segment on the video...quite funny! Click on the link, and then click, "Listen to MJ discuss this story." They start playing the video and the dj immediately says, "oh here it is, the finger wag..wait, here it comes, watch this" and I'm thinking, "no...it's not within the first 10 seconds, haha...scroll to the middle!!"

I love how us FT'ers were in on this story about 4 weeks earlier than everyone else!!

Click on the link, and then search for "Deltalina". It'll be the second video, at 3:01 long. It's the interview with her.

Edit: And it includes an additional finger wag!!

Nice find. I don't care what anyone says--she's totally hot and seems to be a well adjusted woman.

Now if DL could get rid of all of the geriatrics and replace them with a fleet of Katherine Lee's!
