The LAX-AMS/CDG flights with noon departure will be horrible for jetlag. You will get into Europe early in the morning, which will be around 9-10pm LA time.

All about the onward connections with that schedule I would think

Assume it is the arrival of A350s is freeing up some 77Ls for LAX-AMS/CDG.

Wonder if these will replace some KLM/AF flights or supplement them? KLM/AF did often add frequencies in the summer...

Actually, KLM 747-400M is going to be retired soon. It will be replaced to 777 aircraft. It actual flown AMS-LAX on daily basis.

JFK-PDL (Ponta Delgada, Azores) is an interesting use of a TATL 757. (Maybe the winner of a challenge - find us somewhere to use 75S hours out of JFK!) PDL doesn't see a lot of TATL traffic, and what it does is offered by Azores Airlines, previously SATA International, focused on VFR traffic out of BOS, PVD, YYZ...

Seems safe to assume that JFK-PDL came at the expense of JFK-ARN, which had the same weekly schedule on a 757. I still haven't received notice of the flight cancellation though.

The daily ATL-LIS 763 surprises me since last summer DL only had a 757 to LIS.

That's one way to look at it. However, JFK-LAX has been heavy with widebodies. If DL wanted the 75S aircraft back on that no way would they start JFK-PDL.

Just a cynical thought this morning, but with seemingly 2/3 of the Caribbean destroyed, the Azores could make an interesting alternative to many people in the US looking for a tropical island that's not Hawaii. I think it could do quite well with the right marketing.

If it does get more popular, it's well within the range of an A321.

The Azores are not tropical. It's almost never hot, and it rains quite a bit. Really beautiful islands though!

Is LIS popular with tourists from the USA as opposed to those from Europe?

Interesting, obviously never been, but their website showed tropical looking islands and people paddleboarding...poor assumption on my part.
