Korean Air to Group 1 Partner???
Anyone have any news or ideas on when Korean will be "promoted" to a Group 1 partner? Flying them today is basically a waste, but an upgrade would make them far more attractive to Asia.

The agreement they signed this summer is still awaiting government(s) approval. Not sure if that will speed up Group 1.

Are you worried about MQM earnings or tying to use a GUC to upgrade on a KE operated flight? I'm confused.

Hypothetical question:
If they moved KE to group 1 would that jeopardize MU being bumped or would they still have two group 1 Asian partners? I realize both AF/KL are group 1 and they're both European carriers, but I just thought that was because they were the same operating group?

Aren't the Virgins effectively group 1? That would make at least two group 1 partners in Europe: VS and AF/KLM.

I can say with a great deal of confidence that within the next year, KE might move to group 1.
