Earlier this week I got an instant "upgrade" to C+ while I was on the phone with a DM agent buying the ticket. Fortunately I didn't get stuck in a middle seat, but there were many C+ seats available when we proceeded to pick seats.

well I don't believe I ever used the term 'free stuff', that sounds like a political phrase I here people toss around regarding entitlement programs. I described upgrades as perks which Delta grants to me for reaching DM level. I think we both agree Delta has every right to take away or grant more perks. And if the perks degrade to a level that I no longer feel that I'm valued by Delta then I'll take my business else where.

Did I do a good job clearing up any of your concerns?

Speaking of free stuff, do seats 1B and 1C (Comfort +) get free booze on the CR2?

Free booze should be a standard amenity for anyone that has to endure a flight on a CR2.

I hear you there. Luckily I rarely have to fly them any more.

lol, ok.

It's not my concern at all, I know exactly what's going on.

I just got "upgraded" to C+ on all four segments of a BWI-GRR itinerary in September.
