E Fare - Now on INTL flights

Just saw on twitter. Can book, if available, E fare on international flights. Saw it online and tested. The fares do exist. I'd never book one but the masses demand the lowest fare possible. Now you have it.

Assume AA/UA will follow suite. Although no carry on for a long haul would be a nightmare.

Delta Basic Economy fares have the same carry-on allowances as other fares.

I know. I am saying AA/UA will offer basic fares on international now too. And their fares don't get carry-on.

Found a reference for the first BE tickets on international flights. I know I've been seeing them on DTW-AMS for awhile.

These sorts of fares have been common on international carriers for a while, especially for EU-USA-EU RTs.

I had to do a double take when I saw "...BE tickets..." Thinking of the old abbreviation for BizElite, I thought J international tickets have been around a long time! Ah, but now BE stands for Basic Economy. Got it!

E Fares: SUCH a bargain!

I picked a random date for a PIT/CDG round trip . . . .

I think I'll pass.

You are leaving out the return flight options. That cheaper $1323 Main Cabin fare has a connection in JFK on the return while the $1370 E fare is non-stop in both directions. There are no E fares available for that particular return routing. Some people might pay more for the E fare to avoid the connection in JFK on the return. Yes, there are some cases were the E fare is more for the exact same routing. However, this is not one of those cases and it is not completely absurd that the E fare is more given the move convenient routing.

Well, personally, I prefer longer routings for lower prices . . . .

It really is not a big deal in the case of Europe. For European carriers, non-refundable has always meant truly non-refundable and inflexible.

It's misleading to compare different routings where the Y fare is lower than BE, but there is a connection or lousier routing. While some may not care, to others, it makes a great deal of difference.
