Question Reserve Amex Companion Tickets Questions

Flights are booked in F for two.

Suppose something last minute comes up. Cardholder is not able to go. Can the other still go? The ticket has been paid for (F fare), plus the taxes of the second ticket. What does Delta have to lose?

The consensus is "no", but also people claim to have done it, or it may be that it works for exactly one segment until the primary is deemed to have no-show-ed and the rest of the itinerary is canceled.

Here are some recent threads; you can draw your own conclusions

Note that the cardholder does not need to be the passenger on the primary paid ticket. However, once purchased, you cannot transfer pax between paid and comp tickets. I haven't read through all the threads -- were there actually cases where paid ticket did not take both outbound and return flights and comp ticket holder did not have ticket canceled for the return?

There were these claims:

I would not expect it to work. But then, I haven't tried it. If OP decides to try this I would be interested in hearing back either way
