So you pay 195(which seems to not exist in the app) for a seat but then also pay Delta 250? So 1 person it's ~450 dollars?

Basically. And so the $250 to delta covers the escort from plane to helicopter.

$250 for an escort in NYC seems cheap. I have no clue though about such things.

nailed it ... nevertheless, I suspect we'll eventually see one or two posts somewhere on the DL board gushing about the experience

I get that but still. I have some clients who are the 'target market' and for most of them a 250 dollar 3-5min ride in a Cayenne is still a waste of money. I think DL is missing that fact that the TARGET of the 400+ dinner and don't care are likely flying private to begin with. No a 800 dollar FC ticket and want a ride in a Porsche to a budget Helicopter service.

They're not flying private TATL most likely.

Sure many of them are on ME3 in First, but this seems like a pretty low risk move for DL. Worst case they get some splashy headlines, best case they find the happy medium for people who can't quite justify the full private plane/ME3 Suite, and don't prefer black car service.

Hey the LIRR to the Airtrain isn't that bad. NJT to the EWR Airtrain is horrific.

At least the JFK one moves faster than I can walk.

The $250 charge indicates to me that delta does not actually want to offer this to lots of people. They want to make it available for those that really want it and will pay for it. For someone who is flying on a $8-10k ticket, probably someone else did the booking and spent someone else's money and an extra 250 in a very expensive trip won't matter.
Delta seems to not be looking to make money here, they are looking to not have to do this for many people a day but to have the option for certain HV pax who will then boom expensive D1 tix.

I'm with you, pal.

Truth is that I think it would take me longer to get across town to get to the helipad than if would to get to Jamaica.

Even when I'm flying in C, I get on the trusty LIRR. Door to lounge in 57 minutes last week.

(OK that was to wingtips... add another 20-25 minutes to get to gate 32! )
