Bad Turbulence Today (2/21) Out of SLC

I haven't flow out of SLC in a while and forget how bad the turbulence can be.
Currently on DL1809, taking off we had some really strong turbulence, and it almost injured a few of the people sitting next to me. Just an FYI for any of y'all flying out of there today. There seem to be some nasty storms forming to the North of the airport.

I've gone into SLC monthly for 20 years and yes there are some bumpy times but nothing compared to certain times of the year going into LAS or PHX or.....etc...

Maybe this was a fluke bumpy ride..

I can only recall 3-5 times of flying into SLC where there wasn't any kind of turbulence into SLC and I've connected in that airport probably close to 3 dozen times over the last 7 years. Usually it's bad when it's extremely hot out during the summer months. Taking off never nearly as bad, IMHO.

there were some side drafts and i saw someone hit their head on the sidewall. The flight attendants also thought we were through the bulk of it and stood up too soon and nearly fell after another jolt.

I'm one of those crazy people who like turbulence.

Experienced this a few times flying in to SLC. One of the coolest approaches with the mountains towering on both sides though...

Flew in around 6pm today and it was awful , in my nearly 2 million flown miles it was the worst. We had 3 aborted landings and finally had success on the 4th. I was up in FC about 3 people threw up and probably much more in the back, I was so happy to get on the ground

Severe low-level wind shear. Ouch.

I've never liked turbulence. Even after countless flights I still haven't gotten used to it.

This seems over the top. If it was this bad they should have been diverting IMO.

A couple of years ago on mileage runs to SLC, aborted landing one time and struck by lightning on another day. One of 4 planes struck on that day.

A crew I talked to agreed they just had the most turbulent flight in their decades-long careers (departing SLC).

I flew out of there on a CRJ-700 yesterday 2/21. It's been a long time since I've been on a plane that was tossed around like that. Was pretty bad up until about 10,000 ft then just normal bumps on the rest of the climb. It was the kind of bumps where nobody was screaming, just deathly quiet and praying silently while holding on to their seats...lol.
