How useful is the Delta Reserve card for first class companion tickets?

How expensive are the A/I class for domestic first class fares relative to the usual P or F and how often have people been able to use the Amex Reserve annual companion pass for domestic first class travel?

I only have a sample size of one, but I paid a nominal surcharge above what would have been the regular A fare for BWI-JFK-SFO-ATL-BWI later this year.

FYI there is a long existing thread with people's experiences:

Not to hijack, as on-topic; I see in the T&C of the Companion tik that "many fares require 3 night stay..."

Success in getting less than 3 day trips?

(Reserve holder looking to buy a tik soon.)

See thread mentioned above. There have been reports of tickets purchased with less than a 3 night stay so "many" doesn't mean "all".

Well A/I are lower buckets than P or full fare F. From my experience, I could get the companion ticket for the same price as a normal first class ticket (assuming the A/I bucket is available) plus the taxes/fees.
