Of course, I cheat on DL/MU and for the first time ever fly AAnother airline on the day the new MU lounge opens. I can only hope that it's up to the standard of the old, old MU lounge (Air China now operates it since MU left T2 and became part of Skyteam). The one plus of cheating is that flew into the much nicer T2 at PVG. I almost had forgotten what a dump T1 was compared to T2.

Some quick pictures i took during the visit. There was still working in progess (escalator for instance), also their announcement procedure was kind of strange.
Regular PVG travellers know that there are a lot of delays and it make sense to only leave the lounge and go your gate after an 'flight xx is ready for boarding' announcement is made.
However it seems announcements are made like at T-25 minutes. By the time you reach gate 23 it's completely empty and already showing 'last call'.
1st floor; quit busy (11:00AM)
The noodlebar
(part of the) Food selection
Drinks: water, the usual soft drinks selection, Heineken, Tsingtao beer, absolut vodka, Gordon's gin, Johnnie Walker double black, Baileys and Jack Daniels
2nd floor: plenty of empty seats. One charger point available for every two seats.

At checkin today (10/31) for DL186 the DL agent said that starting tomorrow that D1 passengers would be directed to the new lounge and not the horrible one that has been used for the last year or so.
On seeing photos from above I went to lounge and got in no problem as DM/D1 passenger. Was not allowed in the First section, however.
Loved how DL knew it was so bad they had cards printed out and passed out thousands but never really did anything about it (miles, etc.)
