Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Citi still has prestige with AA access.

No worth the trouble; even the temporary Sky Club in T3 will be better than the sad offerings in the KE/SkyTeam lounge in TBIT.

It's my understanding that they are waiting for terminal move before starting up in T2/3. Having Clear will be one good thing while we endure the chaos for a few years in T2/3.

According to a large PDF file that someone shared over on A.net about the move from LAWA, it showed that DL will have double the ticket counter space in T2 than in T3 even though DL will have more gates in T3 than T2. T2 has 10 gates and T3 has 12 gates and WS will be the only other carrier in T3 which will probably only take up to 2 gates max whereas T2 will also have VS and AM which could use up to 4 gates at once. I am curious how DL will schedule flights between terminals. DL currently list that flights to SFO, SEA, PDX, and DEN currently depart from T6.

I saw this lineup at T6 around 0745 on Thurs 13 Apr: SFO - 60, SMF - 62, OAK and SEA - 60P (which was a shuttle bus to remote parking spots east of the Sepulveda Blvd tunnel)

I speculated upthread that they might use the JFK paradigm to identify which flights depart from which terminal, but now realize that would probably involve changing a lot of flight number blocks allocated to the various regional affiliate carriers (SkyWest, Compass, et al)

Anybody have any recent information on the actual move schedule?

I am booking a trip to LAX and can arrive on either the 16th or 18th of May. Maybe time to flip a coin?

DL starts moving on May 12th and is supposed to be finished by May 17th.

http://www.lawa.org/uploadedFiles/LA...ease-Delta.pdf

"The relocation will begin the night of May 12 and will continue with additional overnight moves on
May 14 and May 16, with a scheduled completion of May 17. Delta flights will operate from as
many as four terminals (2, 3, 5 and 6) on certain days of the move"

Here's the public fact sheet will all the moves listed:

While there's no official waiver in place, DL allowed me to reroute all my May itineraries that go thru LAX. They didn't even hesitate on it.

Heh, I wonder if Medallion upgrades to/from LAX will be slightly easier in May.

I leave on a trip on 3/6 and return on 3/14 -- hopefully arriving into chaos is less stressful then departing from chaos

Note: Trip is 5/6 to 5/14 -- didn't modify above since it had been quoted...

T3 at LAX makes T2 at JFK look like the Bellagio.
