Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

You'll be checking in at a DL counter and D1 is always at the front of the plane. Sadly this is probably how much you'll know before arriving.

SMH. thanks flyerCO. I'v got nothing. lol

I figured there is no info as of now, hopefully a few days before my flight on May17th, there is a bit more. it really is to make sure i end up in the right terminal and out of curiosity the D1 check in. its not like there was anything more than water and coffee in that lounge last time I went in.

If you use the app, you will get a push notification when a gate is assigned (usually a few hours before departure), which will let you know which terminal you will be departing from.

Data point. I've got an arrival to LAX 5/27 and tried to reroute myself to SNA, ONT or PSP "to avoid post move mess". There is no travel waiver in place - was told via twitter.

I remember someone got successfully rerouted and reported before. Didn't work for me though.

I think they were transiting LAX during the move window itself. So changing from something like XXX-LAX-SEA to XXX-SLC-SEA (bad example but the best I could come up with )

I wasn't flying to LAX, just connecting there. The phone agent let me change all 3 of my LAX connections in May (which is more than I asked for). I think I just got a very generous agent.

This May, Delta Sky Club is coming to Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at LAX. Our Terminal 3 Club location opens on May 17 and will be available while we continue to make enhancements scheduled for completion by January 2018. The Club at Terminal 2 — opening May 13 — will have showers, so you can get refreshed after a long journey.
The e-mail also says "Enjoy the Club before your next flight:" with specific reference to a LAX itinerary I have on the 18th, so they may have targeted it to, or at least personalized it for, people flying through LAX around that time period.
I'm late to the party, but I was checking the Priority Pass website and it notes that the Maple Leaf Lounge closes on May 16th, and the Loft closes on May 14th.

On DL's site, the following graphics:

Directions and time required between terminals (grossly exaggerated times, but this might be the new MCTs):

Connections chart

A bus route map:

http://content.delta.com/content/www...route-map2.jpg

Four bus routes:
  1. T2-T3 airside bus, Gate 21A to Gate 39
  2. T2-T3-TBIT airside bus between Gate 21A, 39, and North TBIT Bus Gate (North of 134)
  3. T2-T3-T5 airside bus Gate 21A to Gate 39 to between 54A and 54P
  4. The express landside bus between T2/T3 and T4/T5

why would DL need a shuttle from T2/T3 to T5 from June 2017 onwards?

For AS connections most likely. Otherwise it might only be temporary till everything is 100% moved.

^ That's a clear map and chart. I'm not sure the bus travel times are exaggerated. As I said upthread, it was about 30 minutes to take the T5-T3 shuttle for VA connections. They estimate 25 for that. Now, 15 minutes to recheck bags after clearing Customs had better be an exaggerated estimate; if it takes more than two minutes to drop bags that are already tagged through, DL aid doing something awfully wrong.

They presumably won't once the move is done, but there will be a period in which they're operating out of T2, T3, and T5 (AFAIK), so they'll need the T2/T3/T5 shuttle then.

In fact, all of these shuttles are temporary. When the airside walkways between T2, T3 and TBIT open, they won't need any of them
