Lounge access at JFK

Hi,

Sorry for the "dumb" question but I'm confused as to whether I have lounge access at JFK or not if I'm flying JFK-YUL in First. I don't have DL status (ST either) btw.

Thank you

My understanding is that you wouldn't, as that leg is served using a domestic first product (likely on an RJ?). Only international Delta One tickets, and JFK-DEN/LAS/LAX/PDX/PHX/SAN/SEA/SFO full-Y or domestic first/domestic Delta One get access.

But you can always ask at check in.

Looks like the OP WILL have access:

DELTA ONE OR SKYTEAM PREMIUM CABIN PASSENGER

Customers traveling in Delta One on an international Delta flight or a domestic Delta flight connecting to/from a same-day international Delta flight* in Delta One or travel in international First/Business Class on a SkyTeam-operated flight. (In order to qualify for Club access, the customer must be confirmed in the premium (first or business class) cabin for the international segment of their itinerary.)

*International Travel includes: Customers traveling to/from Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, Africa, Canada and Mexico (excludes travel to/from the Caribbean, Guam and Saipan).

It's not only DeltaOne passengers. People flying international business class (not marketed as BE/D1) have access, such as flights to northern South America.

For this purpose, Canada is international even though the Caribbean isn't.

Huh, I seem to have been missing out on some access then. I stand corrected. Good to know! I thought DL had switched to a pretty clear demarcation between int'l first products (e.g. Caribbean, northern SA) and BE/D1.

Yes, for some purposes, but SkyTeam rules still seem to consider all international premium cabin travel as equivalent.

The Caribbean routes were AFAIK always considered to be cheap beach leisure traffic and treated differently by DL (just like the Japan-Hawaii beach routes), although IIRC most of Mexico except Mexico City was in the same category because Cancun and similar places are primarily (cheap) beach resorts than don't generate much business travel or other supposedly HVCs.

Thank you all for your inputs, indeed I ended up spending a good hour before my flight at T4's cozy SkyClub.

Passengers booked on first to Canada have lounge access.
