This change alone might entice me to pivot away from United. It seems like Delta has decided that it wants to be the premium network airline in the US.

I think that was clear several years ago.

If Delta really wants to be "the" premium airline it will need add more legroom to every seat on all planes so that PAX can fly with confidence knowing that they will never be stuck in a horrible seat because horrible seats don't exist. While the free booze and junk food in the clubs, C+ and F are cute, none of them address the huge possibility that one can get stuck in a middle seat with 30" of pitch on a long flight.

The Soup is Campbells

You can't blame Sodexho for the soup. It is straight from Campbells and IMHO, pretty good. Glad to see them changing it on a monthly basis. The Wicked Thai rice is very good.

They are well-known for being terrible among the students of any university that they cater for, but I guess it is hard to screw up snack mixes, olives, and the occasional soup.

According to Delta, the soup's supplied by Kettle Cuisine, a small outfit based in Lynn, MA.

The chicken salad and tuna salad are just Reser's which can be found at many grocery stores across the country.

The nutritional information is not for the fain of heart (per 1/2 cup):

Does that strike you as a concern among premium travelers?

Sorry. Campbells. I have seen in multiple SCs the boxes coming in (yes the soup comes in a big box, a big bag in the box) and it is Campbells. 10 days ago in the Reagan DCA SC multiple boxes.

Perhaps the DL spin machine hasn't updated it's spin....

I can't say the SC soups resemble any Campbells soup I've ever had. Sorry, not buying it.

Agreed, I've never seen Campbell's offer acorn squash and apple soup.

Of course I have no idea, but is it possible that Campbell Soup Company is packaging/cooking on behalf of Kettle Classics?

I know of some companies that pay a bigger company to make/distribute the product across the country as they do not have the capability themselves to do so.

I am NOT saying that is the case with Kettle Classics but could explain why another member saw Campbell Soup Company Boxes as a SkyClub.

I asked a Bar Tender at the DFW SkyClub about any upcoming changes and she said that it was her understanding that better brand names would be appearing system wide. She said it was do other SkyTeam meber complaining about the lack of quality and their customers complaining about the state of USA SkyTeam lounges, but how she would know that is beyond me.

So, if the change to better quality brands of Spirits/Beer/Wine are true, I almost really do not care why and will just be happy that I am not drinking total swill.

Absolutely. People complain about it nonstop on this board. Lots of people who spend big with Delta are not permitted by corporate travel policies to buy first class seats, especially on domestic trips. They also buy lots of last minute tickets.
