Another approach to satisfying the "My ego forced me to make a stupid promise to Wall Street" goal of 80% paid FC... just get rid of FC seats so 80% of what remains is a smaller number.

That was known. They are going to 199 seats in a 757 by jamming in as many seats as possible.

I didn't realize that she had her feet thru the seats until I tried to get my tray table out, and couldn't open the cover.

I won't be making the mistake of sitting in that row again.

Oh my goodness, you're right. At first I was scared that the 753s (which have recently been modded) were being altered again by removing some F seats. But actually, the 757 with 5 rows of F and the odd C+ arrangement is what DL is now calling the 75H, but I don't know which variant it came from. And wow, it really does have 199 seats on a -200 model...

I've offered to advise DL on how to get very very close to 100% of the FC cabin being paid FC tickets.

Also, FWIW, it looks like the 75H and both variants of the 753 carry the same, or more, than the international 767s. Same amount of pax, crammed into a narrowbody aircraft. Yikes.

How? Set the GAP fare prices equal to L fares? Or, perhaps X?

That would be just about the only solution.

Hey, maybe it's working. Just bought my wife and I tickets for the holidays, a combination of A and I fares. The economy fares were pricey Q and L fares, so the cost of buying C+ (no more comp or free C+) was within dollars of just buying discounted F. Choice was obvious, and that's two more paid pax in 4 F cabins throughout our trip.

How about we all take up a collection and pay you not to tell DL?

That statement is self-contradictory, are they going to 199 or jamming in as many seats as possible? My understanding is they are going to 199, because I know they could fit in a few dozen more seats.

Surely an all coach 757 would have more seats.

However there would be a threshold at about 200 seats for needing an additional FA on board all flights.

I think you mean most of the 757s... we know that DL is refurbing them and going from the mixed back of mainly 24F down to 20F and packing C+ seats directly behind what used to be the F cabin in front of the L2 boarding door.

If I recall, the 757 post-refurb will have the worst F/Y ratio in the fleet (when compared to the refurbed A320s that are going back to 16F). Going to be total sardine city in those birds now... will make the 739s feel roomy.
