System error ? CLT-LAS First Class pricing at $3K through Feb.

Hi All

Any system issues / CLT - LAS First class pricing at $3K all dates through Feb 2015. Normally anywhere from $800- $1200. ALso all awards over 100K miles. Is there a reason for such a drastic change ? This change just took affect ..was fine 2 days ago

A flight in February that I'd had my eye on (waiting for plans to firm up) jumped by $1500 this morning (I last looked at 10pm last night).

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

Like others, I have noticed a dramatic jump in F fares today. I'd wait a few days, I suspect they will come back down. Good for DL if they can get these prices.

Google Flights is very useful for looking at patterns here. Discount FC is pretty much non-existent from the end of November through mid-Feb. Then, starting around Feb. 18, the heavily discounted FC inventory is back until early May when it again goes AWOL for the remainder of the schedule. As with all inventory availability, it could change back at any moment.

There is or was a sale on discounted FC domestic flights recently. Some people were reporting around $200 each way, for example to Florida, within the last week. Could all of the G and A class inventory be gone and people are just seeing a few seats left at full F?

Seems that two things are happening here:

1. Either /WNUP fares have pretty much been yanked, or pricing for First Class connections is hosed and is breaking the fares instead.
2. A and G availability has dried up for CLT-LAS. I ran searches for a few random dates and they are showing a whole lot of F9 P9 A0 G0.

I just priced a DTW/LAS trip I need to make in January and it's over $2,200 for an A fare and around $450 in coach.

If prices don't come down I'll be booking a ticket in the back of the bus for sure on this trip. Good thing is I should stand a good shot at an upgrade with those high of fares. If Delta can get people to pay over $1,700 RT more to ride up front then good for Delta.

As of yesterday there were DTW-LAS fares in G available for $479 (I snagged one of these). Today the same dates (1/9 to 1/14) are A fares at $1361.

Similarly, yesterday I saw ATL-DTW G fares 12/26 to 12/28 for $481. Today they are A fares at $1131. United is almost half that.

It's as if all G fares disappeared overnight.

I was looking at a possible trip to BNA in February that was <$900 RT 2 days ago. It's $2341 today. YOWZA!!

Coach fares were/are in the $550 range, except for one flight that dropped to $385.

AAlternate carrier is $1019. Hmmm...

Oddly enough DL is offering my to upgrade to first for only $79 (or EC for $29!), despite the current A-fare being $407 more than what I paid! I wonder if the upgrade price is really only based off the -UP cost hidden in the fare?
