No change in 180/280k Delta RTW awards
Just cuz we know how sneaky Delta is the "most trusted air line in the world" I thought I would put out a fire that could flare up. The good news is, and confirmed with DL PR folks and RTW desk, that RTW tickets have NOT changed even though then no longer show up on Delta.dumb! This is why we are doing our (likely final) RTW next month. It's not ideal with a 10-month old, but I genuinely have zero confidence that this great value award will be around much longer.
Yes. Although "the most direct routing applies" rule is never enforced, IME.

There's no MPM rule like RTW revenue tickets have?

Keeping is simple, east to west or west to east and 6 stops. Just call the RTW desk (if I recall right 9-8ET M-F) and have many city's as choices that you want along the route.

I've been flying the past 18 hours. Was there concern this was changing? Why?
I'm siting at 540k give or take and have another TATL in two weeks. Almost there. Just need to decide who I would like to take with me now.

No. Rules are completely different.
My upcoming trip exceeds the MPM of the highest paid RTW (38,000 miles) and I found this out the hard way. When calculating the price of my infant ticket, they couldn't use the paid RTW fare because of this. As a result, I had to pay 10% of of the one-way J fare in each market... just under $2,000!

I was away for the last part of July and most of August, and am now catching up on my reading.
There was a very good article on the three alliances, and their RTW offerings in a recent edition of The WSJ by Scott McCartney (The Middle Seat). I don't believe that you need a subscription to the on-line edition to view the article, if you visit the site infrequently or never.
