I'm 2/4 so far as a DM. Short-hauls have been okay, but I missed ATL-LAS and SLC-SJD by a huge margin.

I get the feeling that the recession is now fully over, and lower upgrade percentages are going to be the norm.

PM

last week 2/2

1/6 (delayed) - 1485 LGA-MCO at the window
1/9 - 997 MCO-LGA BFUG

however, this morning i was 15/52 on 2285 LGA-MCO! this is a flight that i had a nearly 100% success rate at the 5 day window all of last year. must be a DM convention in orlando this week!

there were a bunch of NYC-MCO schedule changes 1/1, including the removal of my usual 5.00pm-ish MCO-JFK flight. perhaps my success rate is about to plummet.

Last minute rebooking on RDU-DTW (CR7) last Friday. Was booked in Full-Y and went to #1/9 on the upgrade list and cleared before boarding.

Guess that makes me 100% (1/1) on the year

Flying LGA-MSP-LAS on an award flight on Wednesday. MSP-LAS cleared at the PM window. Unfortunately the first leg will be the first upgrade I missed since last Feb and I will probably be stuck in a middle seat to boot.

UG luck through ATL looking poor. Missed both UGs this morning/afternoon. Not surprised about ATL-BDL, but the STL-ATL was about a 50/50 route for me as a GM. I'm guessing the cancellation of the 655 MSP flight spilled into ours...

Nice that they offer Porsche transfers on mileage runs.

Lower it seems. I hope it's just with the overlap of status through Feb but I'm seeing much fewer upgrades then 2013 so far.

DM - DL Reserve Card
1/6 - PBI-ATL - (S Fare) - #2 at gate 0 seats
1/6 - ATL-IAD - (S Fare) - Upgrade at 5 day window
1/8 - IAD-ATL - (V Fare) - Upgrade at 5 day window
1/8 - ATL-PBI - (V Fare) - #3 at gate 1 seat
1/14 - PBI-ATL - (U Fare) - Upgrade at gate #1 with 3 seats
1/14 - ATL-CLT - (U Fare) - Upgrade at 5 day window
1/16 - CLT-ATL - (B Fare) - #4 at gate 1 seat
1/16 - ATL-IAD - (B Fare) - #3 at gate 1 seat

Last year I was >90% upgraded but then again I booked my routes based on EF upgrade inventory where possible. Now that I can't see available inventory it seems my percentages will go down.

Note : as of January 2014, DL 230/231 are modified A330 with "lie flat" seating.
Checked yesterday, and was able to re-ticket my M-fare to a Z-fare, with a credit of over 300€. Changed the outbound slightly, but I now arrive in Boston about an hour earlier (which is great for this trip).

AMS-LHR-BOS-AMS, rebooked in "Z," so, no more "worries" about the upgrade clearing (outbound), extra EQMs, and I saved some SWUs.

Unfortunately, the AMS-BOS outbound was not available as a (new) reduced price Z-fare; and it was filling up very nicely, so while I still expected the upgrade to clear day of departure; was more than happy to confirm myself in BusinessElite.

My issue with the SWU day of departure clearance is that I would need to arrive at the Schiphol early, which is very inconvenient. I travel to Boston with no checked bags; so with Privium (which hardly matters) and an electronic boarding pass, I have no reason to arrive more than 1 hour before departure (unless, of course, I need to "CHASE" an SWU day of departure!)
