New airplanes, same old problem. Fortunately I am able to book away from them but will be trapped on one for a five hour trip this fall with no 757 alternative.

Exactly. This.

Sooner or later, over time, the older, roomy aircraft choices will disappear, and are already doing so, slowly. I'm finding I hafto hunt & search sometimes, especially on near transcons. The B739s are infiltrating!!!

It was encouraging though last night to get into an old NW 753 which had a completely new interior right down to the seatback screens in F. What there was in Y I do not know and hope never to know.

Same seats as the 747 and 330. Fairly certain some of the 767s have it too, although not 100% sure.

Flying DTW-MCO in end of Aug. Can't wait to try it out!
No it doesn't. While it is true that the aircraft features "personal video", this does not indicate "satellite TV".

767s don't have the same seats. They are a different more compact design.

He was referring to Y, and actually both of you are wrong. The 744s and 763ERs have Zodiac (formerly Weber) 5751 seats, while the A330s and reconfigured 753s (as well as the 739ERs) have the B/E Aerospace Pinnacle.

I have been told by somebody who should know about these things, that Live Satellite TV installations on 739s should start this Fall.

I addressed this poster a few months ago ... these comments are ridiculous. 6'5" is 97th percentile for adult males in the US and basically then 99th percentile for the population (once you factor in females and juveniles). 6'2" is 95th percentile for men and higher for women and juveniles. There are options, and with the advent of Economy Comfort and similar products on other airlines, more options than in the past. To expect airlines to cater a typical coach seat to a small percentage of the population is absurd in my opinion. The reality is if something needs to be done, width is a much bigger problem than pitch, in particular since pitch mostly impacts each individual passenger while seat width results in discomfort for passengers themselves plus those seated adjacent to them if it is too constraining.

Well that might prove to be a challenge...

Maybe an update to seatguru is in order.

Thanks for the info...

You do get a controller in the side of your seat and it works pretty well.
