717 and 737-900ER seat maps now available

Here they are, the seat maps for the 717 and 737-900ER!

717:

737-900ER:

Looks like the 739ER will have 20 F seats, and there will be no exit doors aft of the wings (similar to UA).

What routes will Delta be using these aircraft on?

My guess they will be deployed the -900ER from ATL-PHX or ATL-FLL as well.

The 717s will mostly be used on short hauls replacing DC-9s and upsizing some existing CRJ-900 and Embraer 175 routes, which in turn will be used to replace 50-seat RJ flying.

The 737-900ERs are intended to replace older 752s (including the 75Ns), A320s, and domestic 763s.

So, making the lavs a bit smaller allowed for Row 20 in the 739?

I wonder what the back exits will be like on these planes? It looks like the window seats will be very roomy, but how will the other seats be?

It looks like they were able to add a third lavatory in the back, which should compensate for the loss the forward Y lav.

I love that the 717 has the solo seat on the left side at the exit row, just like the MD-90. I call that the Silver Medallion First Class seat!

lamont2718 Jun 18, 2013 5:39 pm

Has Delta given any indication of when the 717s and 739s will enter service?

jdrtravel Jun 18, 2013 5:53 pm

the 737 looks really tight in Y.

KOTAR1988 Jun 18, 2013 5:57 pm

Love it!

At 37" pitch, F will be a bit tight as well. Both look as though they've lost an inch of pitch versus the 73H/738.

As expected, worse F:Y ratios than the aircraft they are replacing. At least the seats on the 717 will be a bit wider.

That's a poor generalization.

ATL peaks at 40-something 65/76 seat regional jets this summer, and the 717 isn't a candidate to replace many of these -- or the remaining 50-seat regional jet -- flights from ATL. Undoubtedly, the 717 will replace equipment on flights currently operated with other, larger mainline equipment. Capacity will be offset through additional frequency as well as shifts in capacity to DTW & MSP as DL begins rebuilding its network with the mass exodus of 50-seat jets.

The 717 looks beautiful with the 18.1 inch seat width, though. For a fat guy, it's much nicer than the 17.2 the 737 offers.
