Smile 110V/USB power now on MD-90 aircraft!

It's true, just used it in F. It's also in EC, not sure about further back. Anyone know if this is a planned feature update across the entire MD90 fleet?

This is both exciting! And sad :'( It means Delta is apparently hanging onto these plans a lot longer now.

Considering they just bought a whole bunch of MD90s in the last couple of years, it's not surprising they're keeping them around. Also, is this fleet wide or just a single plane so far?

Aren't they getting even more from AA or US post merger?

They are still adding more to the fleet, can't see them going any time soon...

Neither AA or US have any MD-90's

Unless you mean the 717's coming from Southwest / AirTran?

I just saw it on the one flight, but I'm also curious how widespread it is at this point if anyone knows...

I had seat power on two MD90 flights last week. If these planes had AVOD, I wouldn't mind flying them more often.

Yeah, but every time someone plugs in an appliance the air speed drops 3 knots.

Seriously, this will be a nice benefit. At least I can recharge my laptop so that the next time I have space to use it, the battery will be topped off.

whats the deal; why the hate for these planes? I just flew on an MD88 or MD90 (can't remember which) to NYC from MSP on Monday. It looked extremely new and it was comfortable. The only beef I had with it was that the EC seat that I was in didn't recline AT ALL (unless you count the 1/4" movement it did when I tried). All of the seats in this row did it too (I was in the last row of EC). It was 10AM though and I was refreshed so I didnt bother.

Flight went mechanical, got moved to another MD-90 with no power. Not liking these odds!

For reasons I can't articulate, I love the MD-88 and don't care for the MD-90.

With the flip-flopped 2-3 or 3-2 seating of the 88/90, if one prefers the right side of the plane, the MD-88 is definitely better. And if someone is stuck in row 34 or back, at least they don't feel like they're in a secluded noise box like on the MD-90. IMO, however, the 90 is quieter up front of the two.

Where are these power outlets located in the MD90? Sitting in 2B and not seeing anything. Under my seat?!?!?

Correct - most of the time under you to the right side of the seat.
