If you have old choice benefit picks that you have not yet done, remember that the deadline is FEBRUARY 28. You may have deliberately procrastinated so that the SWUs or gift cards will have later expiration dates, but don't forget and lose the option.

An easy way to see if this applies to you is to log into delta.dumb and search for "choice benefits." One of the first listings will lead you to a page describing choice benefits with a red continue button. Clicking on "continue" leads to a page inviting you to check boxes corresponding to what level(s) and year(s) of choice benefits you wish to select. If you see some that state that the FO or GM status gifts will expire on February 28, 2013, this means that you have until that date to make choice benefit selections from that set. (This is easier than trying to understand the program years associated with choice benefits versus when they were earned.)

On an ipad, these pages mostly show up as a dark blob, but you can still touch to the left of what seems to be the ghost of some data in the center of the page to check thee box and see what choices appear for you.

Has anyone even able to get a work around on gifting GM for 2013-2014 to someone who is currently a GM through 2/28? If benefits expire 2/28 and so does status, how do you do this? There should be a one day buffer in there for just this reason.

You have to wait until the status expires, so you can re-gift on 3/1. This is Delta IT we're talking about here.

Question for you that I think I should know the answer to. I made diamond in late December; can I still select benefits for the March 1, 2012 - Feb 28, 2013 program year, and then again for the March 1, 2013 - Feb 23, 2014 program year? Or is it a one time deal?

They still have status on the 28th. You can't gift status while the old one is still active.

So, this warning is for people that still have unselected 2012 choice benefits? Or for 2013 benefits? As it stands I have open selections for 2013 and 2014.

2012 benefits have to be selected by end of this month. 2013 benefits you have until end of Feb 2014 to choose.

The Choice Benefits that must be selected by the end of this month are for those who qualified for 2012 Medallion status based on 2011 flying. Like MSPeconomist said, the easiest way to understand this is to see when the gifted status would expire. If it would expire 28 Feb 2013, then you have until that date to pick. I made PM in October 2011 and took SWUs for my 2012 CB. I then requalified for PM in November 2012 for my 2013 status. I have until 28 Feb 2014 to select my new CB.
