Thanks, but think I will only have time for a run up to someplace in the northeast.

Currently sitting at 5884 miles from gold. Just booked the Christmas (and last of the year) trip, wanna take a guess at the miles? 5882. Oh well, I'll be silver for another year before we finish taking off, right?

Just below it when taking off for the return, if there's no irrops. (You might luck out and end up taking a connection.)

But you won't; you'll still need MQD or waiver unless you're furrin.

Oh, I've got enough MQDs for platinum. (don't ask, we have a liberal flight policy.) If it wasn't for the one United flight in June, I'd be there. This is the closest I've ever come. Oh well. There's always next year right?

The only reason I want to get to gold is for the extra mile bonus.

But the MQDs are for this year; they reset to 0, so you don't have Silver next year until you've spent enough.

Assuming you are US based and have not spent $25k on a DL AMex...nope

Welcome to the new DL.

For $100, you get Silver and 49,727 MQM rollover (plus whatever miles you get for the $100 ticket).

What does "based outside the US" mean? I'll spend most of the year abroad in 2015, but this Jan-Mar in different locations than October-December.

SkyMiles members with addresses outside the USA (for example, I live in the UK) are exempt from the MQD requirement.

I should have hit GM by now, but only 3 of my 6 segments flown in A/G classes last week have posted with the 50% class of service bonuses. Is this common?

You'll have to contact DL and tell them those segments posted incorrectly missing the bonus while the others posted with it. Unfortunately this happens more than it should.

My recollection is that near the end of last year Delta was selling MQM's in several segments up to a max of 10,000 MQM's to help people who needed relatively few MQMs to reach the next medallion level for 2014 travel. I believe 10,000 MQMs cost $3,000 but you could buy in smaller blocks such as 1,000 MQMS. Check with the elite line to see if they have a similar promotion this year.
