Recycling Pictures... Has anyone noticed this?

Okay, so I thought I would make a post regarding the two pictures I will post below....

What caught my attention about the pictures is that they are both my home airport, PDX (categorized by the carpet, positioning of the moving walkway, and the beams on the ceilings). I think that's pretty neat! You'd think Delta would use something like ATL or JFK.

The second point is that the picture appears on BOTH Delta.com AND Citicards.com...

Which leads me to this conclusion...
Do large corporations have access to some pre-purchased picture bank?

Interesting. Maybe they contracted the same firm to do their websites?

You don't hafto be a large corporation. Just do a Yahoo or Google search for something like - - -

Buy Stock Photos

. . . . and you'll find company's websites that do this.

I was gonna post a few here, but not sure if it's the right thing to do.

There's another PDX pic that is part of the homepage rotation. A couple riding bikes across a bridge. Pretty sure it's the Broadway Bridge.

Subtle city marketing.... Maybe the Port of Portland/Chamber of Commerce/Tourism Bureau has something to do with this.

It's called stock photography. Corbis, Getty, Istockphoto.com all make a bundle on this.

Part of my nightly round of checking all of my important accounts.
I realized that I thought I'd just seen a picture... And then that odd feeling to scramble and confirm your suspicion.

Same picture, but a ever so slightly different shot...

Now starts the quest to find every picture with the friendly looking lady who is either traveling with a lot of luggage and prefers not to check them all or is simply not an elite flyer and thus has carry them all... Or just prefers not to check bags.

Hope she knows she's famous.

It's funny how everybody is so happy to be in an airport, all smiling and everything. In reality they should be all sorts of frustrated, ready to demand an upgrade and battle the next set of gate lice.

(The picture reminds me of a safety video that LX had a few years ago - it was in the form of a cartoon and when presenting water evacuations everybody was smiling and jumping in the water, like kids jumping in a swimming pool on a hot summer day. Ah yes... the joy of water evacuations in a freezing ocean!)

Then there's a case where an insurance company is using a house destroyed by hurricane Sandy in one of their ads bragging about what good service they provide..

which would be OK, except the the owner of the house has announced his claim hadn't been paid and might not be.

Reminds me of the the time the "Women for Cain" website popped up after the troubling err, allegations against Herman Cain surfaced. Turned out the women who were for Cain were also for an under-development au pair site, as well as South Africa's top brand of sugar. Viva globalization!
