DL will start adding satellite-based Gogo Wi-Fi to its international fleet starting in early 2013; to be completed by 2015:

Believe it or not, I am actually saddened a bit by this. I always found some peace in being able to take a long international flight and disconnect for a few hours. I know LH has offered this for a bit, but I do not fly them internationally enough to utilize it.
Similar to LH though-I am sure it will not be cheap.

Looks like LH offers it for about $25 for 24 hours, which is really not too bad considering what a 24 hour GoGo domestic pass costs. Why though do I have a sinking feeling that GoGo will demand more than $25 for intl... I hope I'm wrong.

I hope people do not use VOIP/Skype when on int'l flights and bother those attempting to sleep.

It won't be "Gogo" providing the service, as they only provide ground-to-air services using cellular stations.
It will be another provider who offers satellite capability.

Given that the launch of the first satellite to be used by Gogo is about a year away, there's not much point in hurrying aircraft installations.

I like this part of the release: "In addition to Wi-Fi improvements, Delta has added more First Class seats and in-flight entertainment to its domestic product"
Huh? Maybe they confused FC with EC?
