That's what I was thinking. The seat is partially reclined. Sit up, launch it forward, legs fall off (and hopefully laptop does, too). Then slam it back all the way. Legs-up would instantly become obscenely uncomfortable, and the problem solves itself without FA intervention.

...or, yeah, you could walk up to the galley and ask the FA to give the pax behind you some verbal whiplash. Thing is, I've found that pax who have the FA intervene are typically subjected to abuse the rest of the flight through kicking the back of the seat, pulling down on the headrest to stand up every half hour of so, etc. If it can be solved without a FA, that's how I'll handle it.

I can't believe I'm arguing this point, but the logic of slamming forward is that the feet fall off of the headrest. It's the immediate slam back that keeps them from returning.

Edit: Unless your reasoning was just to send a message, then that will probably work.

it mightt be very easy to spot her. She's most likely a DM or at the least a PM. Prob NY based and flies a lot. I say NY based cause if someone was gonna put their feet up like that, I'll take the odds on it being a NYer VS a Californian.

Was on a DL flight back from a Central american country a couple of weeks back. Young woman (seated between her parents) was doing this in the EE row. Her father was also trying to seat her two younger underaged-for-EE sisters in the EE row.
