The Official Delta 747-400 Interior Mod Tracking Thread

With DL's first 744 almost ready, I think now is the time to start the 747-400 interior mod tracking thread. It was stated that the mods will be previewed to DL employees sometime this month.

Here is the current lis:

Where are the mods taking place? The last flight that I see for N670US was on 9/11 terminating at NRT.

FWIW A little bird(and it has been loaded into the Delta timetable) told me ATL-NRT will be going to 744 and it will be the lie-flat birds.

(start MAR 24....wont be on Delta.com yet, but it is in the timetable)

I want to say it is TPE(same as the T7s) but it could be PEK or HKG.

Damn sure isn't TechOps.

I saw a DL 744 in PEK ramp area in late sept and that could be it. The normal PEK-NRT is operated by a 767 and 744 has not shown up in PEK for years.

so that means there taking the 777LR off that route. Where else can DL put a 77L that will benefit from its specs? Its a LR for reason so, anyone have a clue?

MCO?

I wonder if they could be used to pick up some of the slack in the 767-300ER fleet as those mods get completed.

Haha! Might be a little out of range - even for the LR.

If only they'd finish up the mods quick, I guess the change from a 77 to a 744 makes sense they moved the 777 to MSP-NRT and will have the bigger plane from the bigger hub and the smaller plane from the smaller hub. MSP still needs global entry and domestic flights out of ATL still suck dealing with the bus stop in b for a sky club but I don't necessarily disagree with this one. Too bad I still always seem to get booked DTW-NRT so I'm stuck with the old 744 till the mods progress farther along

Smile new 747 to tlv

I hope they have it on the flight to tlv. just flew today from jfk to tlv the seats are so uncomfortable! the entertainment system wasn't working properly, the safety film was screened 7 times. There is no doubt that "smoking is not allowed at any delta flight"

Just returned on the TLV JFK 744. UGHHH! Power outlets didn't work. Food was spoiled. Luckily was in 77B so service was a bit better than downstairs. Fortunately, lots of empty seats, so I piled up the pillows and blankets and made myself a homebrew lieflat.

I noticed that when I went to book ATL>NRT in April 2012. It shows a 747-400 although it does show IFE now instead of overhead, it does not show it is equipped withthe lie flat sleepers. Here's hoping this is one of the new refurbished old ladies that indeed has the lie flat sleepers!

The ATL-NRT seat map for the 747 for May and beyond has looked a little different; I wonder if it is the new arrangement.

1-1 upstairs, though? Wow.

My NRT-ATL for Memorial Day 2012 has definitely gone to the new configuration. I can't figure out which seat to book for myself. I really like the extra space/shoulder room of 7A on the 77L. What is comparable on the modified 744? The last row of each cabin?

While I generally like the upper deck (except the tiny overheads--any word on changes there?) right now I've picked 6A. I might pick the last row in front of the exit door on the UD if that will have some extra space.

FWIW, my LAX-NRT over Fourth of July has gone 77L. Seems like a waste of the LR; I assume it must be for a/c positioning reasons-- in from SYD, out to NRT?
