I flew in 73A DTW-ICN and found it to be an excellent seat - the table area in front is great to dump things on like your pillows and meal tray.

ICN-DTW I flew in 72K and was not as pleased. While it also has the table, the proximity to the bathroom makes it more noisy. You heard every flush, you hear the door opening and slamming. While not terrible, I would AVOID 72K.

Have an upcoming trip NRT-ATL in J and thought this thread might help me pick my upper deck seat. However, after having read through 10 pages, I'm more confused now.

Have 80K currently - any negatives or does it not even matter?

Not much difference. I prefer the seats with the extra counter in front of them, 73A. 72K. 77A/K, or the last seat on the K side, but really no bad seat up there. Enjoy.

80K is my fav seat as there is no one opposite you. 80K is as private as you will get plus your the first one down the stairs to deplane.

It's also the dovster's favorite BE seat.

I hope I am not making a mistake by going with 1A on an upcoming trip to ICN....I've been loyal to 80K but want to try 1A for the reason that the forward lower BE cabin seems to be just as private as the UD but obviously a lot more spacious.

Never sat there, but supposedly it's really close to 1K so you might not get the privacy you are expecting.

aren't the seats angled towards the windows? If that's the case, I won't mind 1K being somewhat close to 1A.

In my opinion, 1K has lots of privacy.

Great to hear, will definitely stick with 80K. Thanks.

Is one pair of middle seats in BE better than others, does row 9 have extra storage, or avoid due to Lav/galley?

I had my first ride today on a 333 (2A) FCO-AMS and I am even more convinced that the 744 UD is DL's best for me. So glad my next trip has two 744 segments.

how is seat 1A

upper deck is nice on the 747 but I think I want to try seat 1A. However, I hear that 1A is very noisy due to its proximity to the very front of the plane and the closet. Is this accurate? Is it very noisy and do the FA's frequently use the closet by 1A?

May be crew dependent but didn't notice any issue with them bothering me by accessing the closet
