The way I look at this is that it's a nice perk and a reasonable use of a service that DL can provide when their staff have nothing else to do...plus, it's great PR. I've had it a couple times in ATL (even though this is my home). Once was connecting back through on my way elsewhere and was driven to the next gate. The other time was a late evening flight, delayed by weather...landed around 10 PM. Driver picked me up and drove me to my car in the parking deck. I was much more thankful for this ride than one between gates.

Celebrity baby gets the Porsche treatment...well duh, she is named North West after all.
Photos via link: http://www.tmz.com/2014/06/20/north-...an-kanye-west/
Kim Kardashian's 1-year-old baby is a full-on ......, flying 1st class from NYC to L.A. with nannies, an assistant, a nurse and a security guard ... then whisked off the plane by Delta personnel and escorted home in a chauffeur-driven Porsche Panamera waiting for her on the tarmac.
North West did not fly with her mom or dad. Kanye was in France and flew to Miami. Kim flew to New York with North but then left for France for a day ... so mom and daughter flew back home separately.
And no Ubers for North. She rolled up to JFK in Kanye's Maserati and was greeted by her people.
Sure beats Chuck E. Cheese.
I doubt the part about the Porsche driving her 'home' is true, unless this wasn't the DL Porsche but rather super-special-important celebrity handling allowing them to bring their own car out on the ramp.

Today was my first Porsche pick-up. Arrived on an early morning ERJ flight from Toronto to MSP. I had a 90-minute layover and was half awake disembarking my way-too-early flight.
Andy was waiting in the jetway holding a sign with my name. Very friendly guy and fun ride to my connection.

But this looks/sounds more like a pre-arranged VIP treatment than a surprise Porsche ride.

May I ask how tight? I have 1 hr 25 m to get from T4 to T2 assuming the flight in from TLV is on time (and considering someone got the Porsche with a 90 min connection).

Sorry but just now saw this. It was about 45 minutes. Would have been tight but doable.

Delta picked me up in a Porsche
Got it at JFK last week. A 1:13 connection, ROC-JFK-NRT, T2 to T4. One other NRT-bound pax already waiting in the car. Dropped us at the elevator and escorted us up to the T4 SkyClub through a back entrance. Was in J using a GUC.

I got the Porsche in ATL today
Nice surprise in Atlanta. Was not on a particularly short connection, but as I stepped off the plane there was a nice man holding a sign with my name on it. It was a lot of fun driving on the ramp straight to my next airplane.
I asked my host enroute if there was a purpose to the service other than making people like me smile. He responded that while making high-value customers happy was a major part of it, that the same service is available to celebrities for a fee ($350--but I think that includes greeting at the curb and all that). He also intimated that Delta executives and Porsche executives get the same treatment.
Loved it. THANKS, Delta!

Delta Picked Me Up In a Porsche
I was surprised to see an agent waiting for me after a CMH-LAX flight on 6/28/14 on my way to YVR. We drove from T5 to T6 for an Alaska flight 75 min to departure. It was a great experience including walking to the Alaska lounge. My 25 yr old daughter was with me and she was speechless. Kudos to Delta.

My 1st Porsche trip MCO-JFK-POR-JFK-IST
I got my first trip in the Porsche last week...it was snazzy but I had a weird connection. MCO to IST with a 3!! hour connection at JFK. My flight from MCO lands at terminal 4, but my IST flight leaves from terminal 2 (...)! I didn't want to reject the Porsche ride...so I spent 3 hours in the hideous T2 SkyClub instead of the T4. DL needs to depart ALL international flights from T4 now.
PS- I want red seatbelts in my car
PPS- yes I know POR is Pori, but as a non DL destination, I have recoded POR as a Porsche ride

Data point: nineteen minutes in ATL this morning E4 to B29 and Larry was waiting for us in the jetway. I guessed that working for the company for 25 years gets you the job driving the Cayenne. What a sweet guy.
