FAQ: Comfort+ Seating
Hi Everyone,
I know this is a topic that has been discussed in many threads...decided to create a one-stop-thread. Also, many of us have now had the chance to utilize the Comfort+ section on C+ equipped flights. I figured this could serve as a consolidated thread especially as people come to the forum looking for answers. I've put the a/c I am familiar with below and have pulled info from other threads. I will happily update information I do not have based on others' input. For now, I'll leave it with the international equipped a/c and the thread can be updated with domestic information as the program is rolled out. Please let me know if I missed anything! The bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764). These seats are narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests in some cases. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax. 2. The first row of regular economy seating after C+ IS NOT recommended. The last row of C+ has the C+ recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y. Legroom: Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of EC on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets. Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest. FAQ: Economy Comfort Seating

Terms & Conditions: Offering : Economy Comfort™ seating is offered on Delta's two-cabin aircraft, subject to availability. Features differ slightly according to flight type/destination. Features differ slightly according to flight type/destination; Complimentary Spirits/Increased Recline: Complimentary beer, wine, and spirits are offered in Economy Comfort on international flights operating between the US to/ from Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and flights operating between JFK to/ from LAX, SEA, and SFO; in addition, complimentary beer, wine, and spirits are offered in the Economy cabin on all long-haul international flights. Increased recline is offered on most long-haul international flights and flights operating between JFK to/ from LAX, SEA, and SFO. Economy Comfort fees are charged per customer per segment. Fees: Economy Comfort fees are charged per customer per segment. Seats purchased while onboard are not valid for Medallion® or partner airline discounts regardless of status or fare class. Domestic flights offer up to 3 more inches of legroom and international flights offer up to 4 more inches than the standard coach seat. Gold and Silver Medallions: Gold Medallions and their travel companions receive Economy Comfort at no charge for Domestic travel and 50% off on International travel; Silver Medallions and their travel companions will receive a 50% discount for domestic travel and a 25% discount for international travel. (LINK) Discounts are applied to the published per segment fee. Economy Comfort discounts are determined based on the customer's status at the time of purchase. Basic Economy / E Fares: Basic Economy (E) fares are not eligible for paid, complimentary or discounted Economy Comfort, regardless of Medallion or other elite status, for flights flown on or after February 1, 2015. MQDs: Beginning January 1, 2014 SkyMiles members can earn Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) for purchases of Economy Comfort seats only when purchased through a Delta channel including delta.com, Fly Delta mobile app, Delta Reservations, Delta kiosks and select Delta airport locations. If an Economy Comfort seat is purchased at the airport in Amsterdam (AMS), Mumbai (BOM) or Paris (CDG) for a Delta operated flight, the member will not earn MQDs. MQDs will not be awarded for complimentary access to Economy Comfort. MQDs may only be earned by the member traveling whose name and SkyMiles number is included in the reservation. Right to assign/reassign EC seats and right to a refund when paying for EC: We reserve the right to assign or reassign an Economy Comfort seat at any time, even after boarding of the aircraft, for operational, safety or security reasons. The final decision resides with the ground staff and operating crew on the day of the flight. Refunds will be issued to any reassigned customer if the customer is not moved to a comparable or better seat and no MQDs will be awarded. If a customer voluntarily changes his/her flight or seat selection once purchased, a refund for the original seat purchase will not be provided and no MQDs will be awarded. I've been on the 752v1. All coach has IFE on these but most content requires payment. The EC seats have complimentary movies and other programming.
Edit: This was on domestic flights. I'm not sure if they change the IFE on TATL flights to give all coach movies. Haven't ever had the pleasure of a TATL flight in a 752. |

Wow! Thanks for this! I've got a flight coming up in EC on a 777 at the end of the year and was just wondering if it would be worth trying to get row 31 from the GA when I get there. Sounds like it might be better than 34. My only question not covered here is whether or not having a window seat in 31 is worth it or if you're still just looking at a whole lot of wing?

I got the bulkhead at the gate. Was originally in a non-EC aisle. Was charged $80 at the gate, even as a PM. Does that sound correct to you guys? GA said only Diamonds get free EC but that, as a PM, I got a 50% discount. I paid up obviously but was definitely surprised to have to do so. |
