Hi fellow FTers!
I'm working on updated for the new roll out of Comfort + (C+)
Thanks!

On March 1, 2015, DL rebranded Economy Comfort as "Comfort+."
Delta - Comfort+
dl.com: LINK
Comfort+ FAQ - LINK
Offering:
  • C+ is a complimentary upgrade (space available) for DM and PM after booking. GM can access for free at T-72 and FO at T-24. (There is no longer a discount for GM/FO.)
  • Sky Priority boarding
  • Extra legroom and, on international a/c, extra recline
  • Free wine, spirits and regional craft beers, plus premium snacks
  • Complimentary premium entertainment from Delta Studio™ (No longer relevant as of July 1st; Entertainment now complimentary in Y)
  • On JFK-LAX/SFO flights, a Luvo® sandwich wrap and frozen Greek yogurt bar, pillow, blanket, and sleep kit are included

A few general notes regarding DL C+:
  1. On international a/c, the bulkhead seats often have a significant amount leg room (other than the 764).
  2. The bulkhead and exit row seats are often narrower as the tray table and/or IFE unit are in the arm rests. The arm rests do not move which, coupled with a smaller seat, can be uncomfortable for larger pax.
  3. The first row of regular economy seating after EC IS NOT recommended. The last row of EC has the EC recline and members have reported that there's no extra space between this row and the first row of regular Y.
  4. Selecting C+ Seats - You cannot select or purchase C+ seats until after booking is completed on revenue or award tickets. The UG has to clear as well.
************************************************** ***********
Internationally Configured Aircraft
Per DL, International/transoceanic C+ offers 35" pitch and 6" recline. (LINK)

747-400 / 744 / 74S:
  • dl.com seat map: 747-400
    Rows 22-26 - 42 total C+ seats.
  • Legroom:
Row 22 ABC/HJK and 24 DEFG are the bulkhead seats. 22C/H are noted as having unlimited legroom and some have noted that people can congregate due to the proximity of the lavatories, which are located directly in front of the first row of C+ on the 744. 22ABC have recently received poor reviews because of the lav and galley - people tend to congregate in this area and it can become stinky. Comments on 22K indicate that pax can access the aisle without disturbing other passengers. Also, the lavatory near 22HJK is blocked for BusinessElite pax, so there tends to be fewer disturbances and become less smelly over the course of a long flight. Also, seats 22B and 22J can be used for bassinets.
Some might prefer the legroom of row 35/51 on the 744 with less recline and tray in armrest.

    Rows 31-34; 36 C+ seats
NOTE: As DL reduced the number of Business Elite seats on the 777s, rows 29-32 are now the C+ seats.
The C+/Economy seats on a/c has winged headrests.
  • Legroom:
Row 29/31 seats are the bulkhead seats and have plenty of leg room. Rows 30-32/32-34 are standard C+ seats with USB and plug power. Row 44 (exit row) has excellent legroom, but no power outlets. The window seat sin this row are narrower because the tray table is in the armrest does not move up. The recline is standard recline.
    IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

  • Legroom:
On the 764, the bulkhead seats (row 15) have less leg room than the 763's; there's probably about 2' or so between the edge of the seat and the wall. The bulkhead seats do not have moveable arm rests and the tray table/IFE monitor are in the arm rests. In my experience, I felt like the A332/333 and 763's had better recline in EC than the 764.
  • IFE:
These a/c are equipped with IFE at each seat.

C+ and Priority Boarding/Baggage Allowance:

Status Changes:
There have been a couple of questions regarding C+ when a member's status drops down after January 31. Typically, seats will hold unless there is an equipment change. If there's a change, the passenger(s) will most likely be seated in regular economy. There are reports of some success contacting @delta to get reseated in C+.

As for EC, I would buy it. If $159 sounds expensive to you, check to see if you can upgrade only NRT-JFK, as it is longer. However, I don't know if 1-stop direct flight can be split into segments for EC purchase.
24D-G are also bulkhead, essentially with unlimited legroom, as the wall is really far. However, the armrests are immovable, there is no storage space, and because of the large gap between the seats and bulkhead, people tend to stand there or cross between the aisles. Other EC seats have enough legroom, if you're not too tall.
As for drinks, wine and beer are free in regular Y, and EC gets free cocktails.

Enjoy!

It's also mentioned that DL 172 would be using the same aircraft so I'm not quite sure if we would be deplaning. I was told that this is only a "blind" stop. Last time I did this route, I did deplane but that involved a change of aircraft. My return flight on DL 473 would involve a change of aircraft though even if it's the same flight number. The EC option though is available for the JFK-NRT leg only. The Y section in the rear is still wide open as of now but the EC seats are quickly being snapped up. So I'm torn between taking my chances with Y and hope that the flight remains wide open or grab an EC seat now before the good seats sell out. I'm 6'0 btw.
As a veteran of DL172/173:

Most of the time it is the same plane. Due to security regulations you need to deplane with all your belongings and clear security for it is now a Japanese departure and they are responsible for security.
Even if it is the same bird the cleaner might have removed all items left behind.

EC I would never sit in a flight to or from MNL in 24D-G. 22K is my favourite.

You can roll the dice for empty row in the back but many on the US PH passengers bought their ticket wholesale from Pinoy TAsand dos not have a seat assignment.
Very rare did I see 5+ empty seat in Y on the NRT MNL legs.
I have been opuped many times NRT MNL, MNL NRT.

@tenseller: Many thanks for your feedback. I'm glad to hear that we would be deplaning in NRT. That would at least allow me to stretch my legs a bit and prepare for the 13hr flight to NRT. EC Rows 22 and 23 are all taken so I'm looking at 26H instead which is the last row of EC (prefer aisle). It would be nice to get a window too but since it's over the wing, I wouldn't get much of a view anyway. The only other aisle seats available are 24 C & H and 26 D & G. Any suggestion would be appreciated :-)

IMHO an aisle is an aisle on the DL744 except 22c,h and 24 d,g. The seemingly unlimited legroom is an invitation for people to bump into your legs or trample on you feet. It is a MNL flight.

Essentially, DL is making EC like another class of service here, and you'll notice the difference in quietness (of people) and fewer pax walking by b/c business is right in front of you. IMO.
@CabinCaptive: Thanks for your feedback. Yes, you're right. I know it's quite a gamble though. I've flown this route a couple of times when EC wasn't offered yet and I do agree that it gets very uncomfortable towards the middle of the flight. I'll definitely consider your suggestion and EC seems like a viable option. I was likewise looking at the preferred seats. These, however, will only be made available 24 hrs to departure.

Thank again to everyone for your help...much appreciated!

flew back from Spain yesterday. there was a couple 2 rows in front of me that somehow got bumped from pre-paid EC to regular coach on each overseas leg of their US - Spain RT. The GAs actually bumped them up to BC for the return leg of Madrid-ATL which i'm sure they were quite happy with the end result.

My fiancé and I are flying from ATL-NRT-BKK on a 747-400 for our honeymoon. For the round trip, all 4 legs, I have seats 35 B and C. I recently reached Gold medallion so EC seats are discounted. I'm wondering if my exit row bulkhead seats are worth keeping, or move into available EC. I'm 6'6" fwiw.

As for the advantages, I've read: free booze, more recline, and AC power. All seem like pluses. Especially having power for DVD / iPad etc on a 17 hour leg.

Thoughts?

On int'l you get free wine and beer in Y, so EC will give you free cocktails.

Since you're 6'6", I would only consider taking the EC bulkhead (22ABC, 22HJK, 24 DEFG) over your current seats. Otherwise I would keep my Y seats.

By the way, it's a 13 hr flight ATL-NRT, then you're deplaning so you have a chance to recharge a little for a couple of hours before NRT-BKK.

EC Pricing

I know we've already done a fair amount of EC pricing a few months ago via the spreadsheet that rwoman set up, but it was interesting to see that in the "Delta Deals" email I got today, they had added a column with standard EC prices.

Not sure if this is actually new, or just the first time I'm seeing it, but here's a quick cut/paste.

Looks like just the standard EC pricing before any medallion discounts, though it's interesting that ATL-VLD prices at $19 for the ~200mi flight.

Thoughts?

Since you're 6'6", I would only consider taking the EC bulkhead (22ABC, 22HJK, 24 DEFG) over your current seats. Otherwise I would keep my Y seats.

By the way, it's a 13 hr flight ATL-NRT, then you're deplaning so you have a chance to recharge a little for a couple of hours before NRT-BKK.
The only better seats if you need legroom are row 22 ABC and HJK.

Do not take middle bulkhead of 24 DEFG. Passengers on TPAC flights tends to use the space in front of row 24 DEFG as a passage between the two aisles.

Comments on DL 615 (SEA-CDG) Economy Comfort Seat 19A

I'm flying on a 10+ hour flight on DL 615 (SEA-CDG) on the 767-300ER (76L) aircraft. Delta's website for seat assignments says that 19A has limited recline.
However, seatguru (http://www.seatguru.com/en_US/airlin...ER_76L_new.php)

says that 19A is a normal Economy Comfort Seat. My questions are:

1. Has anyone sat on 19A before?
2. Does it recline and if so, how much? Is the recline the same, more, or less as the regular economy class seats?

(Row 19 is in front of the emergency exit row)

3. Does the armrest lift up or is it immovable?

Thanks!

Can't find anything here about EC on the E75. Flying YYC to MSP in a few weeks - is the $39 for EC worth it? Which row(s) are the better EC ones on this plane?

Whether or not $39 is worth it is really up to you.

As the one who has managed this thread, I don't recall seeing feedback on the E75.
