Smile It's Baack: AmEx MR Transfer w/25K MQM's

Surprised to see this email but the deal is back. Same as last year but note this is for first time MR transfers only so if you took advantage of the MR transfer last year, it probably won't work for you this time.

First-timers can immediately get as much as 25,000 MQM's with a transfer. In other words, instant FO.

T&C is here...

------------------------------------------

At the suggestion of deltagoldflyer, I am adding in this info because of the off-chance that someone may actually go back to the beginning and read this whole thread.

But seriously, it really is helpful for those who want to walk through the process...

Sign up for the promotion and make sure it shows in your DELTA account here:

https://dmn.delta.com/cgi-bin/viewpromo.pro

Then yes get the card.

http://track.linkoffers.net/z.asp?ID...000031151S9999

Note: The last link is supposed to be so deltagoldflyer and Ingy can get credit. However, I keep getting a 'Bad Link' code with it.

Then link your DELTA account to MR. MR let's you "advance" 50k right away btw. So, send over the 50k, net out 75k + get 25k MQM on top of that. Then spend $1000 and earn the 50k bonus (to pay back the 50k you advanced!)

Mint coins are here BTW:

ENJOY!

Think twice before doing this. Most of us (with sizeable Skymiles balances) have way more to lose here than we have to gain.

Quick question. I actually did this promotion last year, so I can't do it. But I want to register a friend and then transfer my MR points into his SkyMiles account? Will they allow me to do this?

He doesn't have status, but I fly with him a ton, so it's basically like "gifting" silver. It would also keep me from getting pulled all the way down in terms of upgrades when we fly together. (I know, w/o splitting the ticker) Any thoughts?

This is exactly what i've been waiting for... now not to be an idiot but do I actually do the transfer from the delta site or from amex? I can't seem to figure it out and the link that says transfer now is taking me to a book travel page.

I got this today. So if I understand correctly:

1. It would give me Silver Medalion through 2/2013?
2. Any revenue flights I take this year, if I don't get to 25k more MQM, would count as rollover for earning status in 2012 (if they continue rollover). So if I flew 12k this year, I'd only need 13k more MQM in 2012 to extend out through 2/2014?

I don't expect that Silver would get me much, but given my hatred of AA's new 737 interior, with this kind of qualification DL would make a reasonable backup program for WN for a couple of years and get me the occasional exit row or bulkhead aisle.

Nope according to terms:

Bonus miles and MQMs will be awarded on a one-time basis per qualified member and will not be awarded more than one time per member, for example, on newly created SkyMiles accounts (or duplicate accounts) that are subsequently merged with an existing SkyMiles account.

For those looking to take advantage, here's a bit of advice from how it all went down last year:

1) Sign up for the promotion.
2) WAIT 24-48 hours
3) Transfer your points from AMEX
4) Your transferred points should show up almost immediately
5) Your bonus points and bonus MQM's may take 24-48 hours.

My bonus points took 24 hours almost to the minute.
Don't expect anyone at AMEX or DL to accurately tell you when your points will transfer. Some people got them right away, some people waited weeks. If you don't see your bonus MQM's right away, you may have to be patient.

F-word.... just realized that my points are probably membership rewards express points even though I can't find "express" anywhere on my account. I have a AMEX blue and the platinum delta amex... can I upgrade to normal membership rewards so I can actually transfer?

No but just get this card too: (ingy link btw)

http://track.linkoffers.net/z.asp?ID...000031151S9999

For $1000 spend (one box mint coins) you get 75k DELTA and 25k MQM! Cost per mile is just 0.006/mile at $450 fee but you get lounge access and $200 in other fee's for food etc for the year lower cost per mile to as little as 0.003/mile. A great great deal IMO!

I'm sorry, can you explain that a little more. So, I sign up for this card, but it looks like it has 50000 Membership Rewards Points. Do I then transfer them to DL for 25000 RDM and 25000 MQM?

Thank you. I'm new to the whole AmEx thing.
