BE (instead of F) on MD-88?
Just got my UG on ATL-MIA 5 days out. And I'm confirmed into BE (X)... on a MD-88! This is a new one to me. Did I sleep through an "enhancement" announcement recently?
My guess is dot com is jacked up again (highly plausible) or this flight continues on down south on a bigger bird and the cabin is tied to that for yield mgmt purposes (somewhat plausible).
Anyone has the explanation?

Without flt #, hard to tell, but I'd guess it's a change of gauge flt, with the mad dog doing the 1st leg of the flt #, then something with a real BE config continuing on with the same flt #.

You're on the continuation of an international flight. Whenever you are upgraded on a flight with an international flight number (which means a flight number that contains a segment with Business Elite service) the system will upgrade you into "X" class.
Don't worry, it will be just regular domestic F with the regular old snack basket.

Not unless something major has changed. I haven't been on one of the flights in question for a long time, but in the past, DL called the front cabin on domestic legs of flights with int'l connections "Business", not "Business Elite". The terms are similar enough that if you don't know the difference, you might get fooled, but DL knows the difference--if you aren't in Business Elite you don't get the perks.
