I flew on a Thai airways 747-400 from Phuket- BKK in 2012. About 420 miles and :55 flight time.

shortest one I have been on for a wide body. Also the plane did a u turn at the end of the runway before taking off. I think we taxied down the runway.

AF runs the CDG-PUJ-SDQ flight in a 747 or a 777, PUJ-SDQ are 80 miles apart. I admit I'm always scared.

yeah, iirc it was something like $29 one way

on at least one occasion I booked LAX-SAN, followed by SAN-LAX-SFO at $49; LAX-SFO was a "tag-on" to TW 761 (the LHR-LAX flight), and would have been a $79 ticket by itself ... 3x the miles for less money, and about the easiest upgrades in the system

In the mid 70's flew MKE-ORD on NW DC10.
Mid 80's TW 747 STL-ORD.
And was in PHX when TW flew an L1011 from PHX-TUS, though I never was on it. I think that one only flew in the winter as a tag to STL-PHX.

Back in the days of PSA, most flights within California were $19 or $29.

I recall about 15 years ago, I frequently took US Air 893 from CLT to PHL every week on a 767-200. That's 449 miles.

UA used to fly IND-ORD on a 767. Delta flew everything they had and the kitchen sink to MCO from ATL.

Back in the day, Pan Am flew MIA and JFK to Rio via 747. once in Rio one plane went to GRU and the other to Buenos Aires based on load, so you never knew if you had to change until arrive. RIO to GRU was like flying DTW to ORD.

On a side nte, flew that on a mostly cargo plane (some Brasil airline). Looking into the back 2/3 you could see a helicopter with the blades removed as cargo.

TWA flew between JFK and PHL, 90 miles and usually at about 6,000 feet. You could tell the new lead FAs on the group because they sounded so incredulous when they were reading the announcements and came to the statement about the altitude. It was usually something like the 727 but there were some L-1011 flights too.
