Upgrade confirmed email from delta. But no upgrade.

I got an email from delta telling me my upgrade is confirmed. For my jfk-lax flight in the email it says business class seat 02A, and LAX-PHX first class seat 01A. However when I look on delta.com it shows my upgrade only confirmed on the phx-lax flight. Was my upgrade taken away from me?

It must have been a mistake - I thought all JFK-LAX flights were gate-upgrades only. Maybe the e-mail went out but the online system knew to keep you in your coach seat?

Programs: Now just a lowly DL PM/1MM. This industry needs some competition. It's just not enjoyable anymore.

Called in. They said all they could see was that I gout upgraded on one flight but not DL165. DeltaAssist on Twitter is proving helpful though. I sent them a scrreenshot of the email and they're forwarding it on for review.

Maybe it's your lucky day and JFK-LAX got an equip sub to a CRJ. 100% business class.

Got the upgrade. Received this email from delta:

"Thank you for contacting us. We do apologize for the problem surrounding your complimentary upgrade on Delta flight 165 on March 30, 2011. I have looked at your reservation and do see that you were granted the upgrade however it did not process. I have gone ahead and issued and confirmed the upgrade for this flight now. Your seat assignment is 1A. We do apologize for this confusion."

Wow got a non battlefield upgrade on JFK-LAX, the world must be ending. Wonder if it showed any X availability or are just honoring the error. Did it clear at window?

It has happened to me once before on this route since the implementation of BE.

If I had to guess they are probably just honoring the error. I have had JFK-lax not be a battlefield except once on a Saturday in October when all 16 J seats were empty. They ended up selling a couple of upgrades at the gate.
