Question: So Many Places So Many Bonus Miles

I'm completely new to Delta, appreciate any help in advance...

So I got an email invite on 6/25 for this 100k miles (10k miles per RT). I registered for the promo (have not gotten a confirm, although not sure if that's typical for Delta).

The Ts and Cs state fly any Delta, NWA, etc. flight and get credited post-12/09 (I fly NWA and am participating in the Platinum challenge to comp Plat status--currently have already requal'd UAL 1K for 2010).

I emailed Delta with a question specific to my participation in the NWA Platinum Challenge. The first CSR stated I needed to fly Delta with my Delta Skymiles account on the res (which seems to contradict the Ts and Cs, but is also why I emailed). This response was obviously even more confusing to me, since that isn't what the Ts and Cs stated.

I responded asking for escalated assistance. The second CSR responded back that she was sorry I was disappointed with the promo (I certainly was not disappointed with the promo, I was confused by the response which seemed to contradict the Ts and Cs), and that they would not escalate, i.e., because the CSRs are "designated repondees for upper management". Weird response... she even cut and pasted the same Ts and Cs I cut and pasted into an email--which at the time I had already thought were not clear. I am now waiting for a response again.

So in the meantime I went back to the website, and the website now no longer allows me to register for the promo (although I already did) to see the confirm page etc. I am not sure if this is how the Delta website works, or if I'm newly ineligible for this targeted promo (for which I received the invite).

My questions are these:
1) Does Delta typically send a confirm email when you've successfully registered?
2) Is it possible that I am somehow now "unregistered" or ineligible for this promo (e.g., because the CSRs thought I didn't want it, are mad at me, etc.?)?
3) What kind of email response quality do you typically get from Delta...? I don't expect much, but I do expect that somebody can read an email and find the point...
4) I want to participate in the promo, will be flying NWA branded / NWA/Mesaba operated flights, any recommendations?

Are there any discount codes on Sky Club memberships? With the demise of Priority Pass access in Sept, I'm thinking about signing up.

BONEYARD: OLD PROMOS:

1. ** 7/2/09; 7/16/2009: The 500-mile booking bonus via Delta.com posted on/around 7/2/09, for all such bookings on Delta.com between 4/28/09 and 5/31/09, as reported on 7/2/09 ** THIS IS NOW FINISHED, per reliable DL sources. (I'll have to create a "boneyard" thread for old promos, due to the posting lag. Assume 4-6 weeks post-promo posting of miles for many promos. )

2. ** 7/2/2009: Triple MQMs in Y/B/M and first/business Elite; Double in H/Q/K: (9M UP TO TRPL): Finished 6/15/09. Most posted in Mid-June. (Equivalent program and slightly different fare classes on NW.) See FT thread, as DL (and NW?) link is defunct now.

3. ** 7/7/2009: Check your DL -and- NW accounts out for 5000, 10,000 or 15,000 "Thank you gift EQM miles" on 7/7 or 7/8/09, and an email from Jeff Robertson, VP Loyalty Programs. Main criteria appears to be activity, and possibly recent elite status: Appears as 10K "EQM Thank You Giveaway" on NW; 9M GIFT MQM 10 (or 5 or 15) on DL.

4. Old free miles for emails, surveys, etc.:
---------------------------------
(** As of 7/14/09: 5 gone: (A. DEAD: 1,500 Bonus SkyMiles when you sign up for Delta E-Mail Newsletters: https://www.delta.com/marketing/1500bonusmiles/ * Targeted )
(B. DEAD: 500 Bonus SkyMiles when you sign up for Delta E-Mail Newsletters: https://www.delta.com/marketing/500bonusmiles/ * Targeted )
(D. DEAD: 1500 Bonus SkyMiles when you sign up for Delta E-Mail Newsletters * Targeted * Must be a SkyMiles American Express Cardholder ) Non-DL link (Dead): http://ca.pgs01.com/webforms/go/254/login-1030.html )
(E. DEAD: 1,000 Bonus SkyMiles when you join the SkyMiles program. You must be a member of Omni Hotels (also free to join) https://www.delta.com/marketing/omnibonus/index.jsp)
(F. DEAD: 250 Bonus SkyMiles for completing this online survey about your favorite inflight pastime. https://www.delta.com/marketing/insi...nion/index.jsp)

5. ** 7/3/09: Confirmed: "The Link Accounts" 500-mile bonus ( 9P SM WP LKBNS ) [and perhaps the less-documented additional 500 miles (9P SM WP LKBNS)] will still apply past 4/15/09 until 7/31/09, per an email sent out and
https://www.delta.com/skymiles/manag...unts/index.jsp. Note that transferring miles will not be required
· Offer: Members of the SkyMiles and WorldPerks programs may link their accounts and receive a one-time mileage bonus. To be eligible for this offer, the member will need to complete the linking process application on delta.com between January 29, 2009 and July 31, 2009. Bonus miles will post the member’s SkyMiles account 4-6 weeks following the end of the promotion, July 31, 2009.
· The linking of a Northwest WorldPerks account and a Delta SkyMiles account is a non-reversible transaction once confirmed by the user and can only be done between accounts that are owned by the same person. First and last names must match on the accounts and the user must submit WorldPerks and SkyMiles account numbers and PINs..
8/4/09: Linking / transfering will close down on 8/31/09, but the bonus does not appear to be extended per 8/4/09 email from DL

6. ** 7/8/2009: DL/NW for MEM to/from new Texas cities (NW link in #14, item A.8.) LBB/MFE/DFW thru 9/8/09: http://www.delta.com/skymiles/ways_t...nus/index.jsp?

7. ** 7/9/2009: DL for 2500 bonus miles on next RT (TARGETED ONLY) thru 9/3/09. See [url]https://www.delta.com/marketin

MORE OLD 2009 PROMOS:

1/3/10: $25 SkyClub entry with DL Gold or Plat Amex credit card See http://www.delta.com/traveling_check...ship/index.jsp . It appears to be a single club entry, rather than a day pass, but still 1/2 price.
Do also consider the 30-day membership (allows 2 guests, too) as listed on http://www.delta.com/traveling_check...fees/index.jsp if you will be entering more than one club, or have family/guests traveling with you. The 30-day membership is not dependent on a DL Amex card, either.

12/18/2009 Bose Headsets Buy a Bose QuietComfort 15 headphones set between 11/1/09 and 1/31/10 and get 1500 miles. See www.bose.com/club (redirects to https://www.milesforbose.com/exp0909/index.jsp) or call 1-800-215-2073.
However, the website says "Earn 2 points for every $1 spent on Bose headphones", and gives a $299.50 price for these. Hmmmm.
Not sure about the discrepancy in points. However, the fine print says the 1500 miles offer is only good on this model, and other models get the 2 points per $1 spent. Suggest calling the 800 number first.

It apparently may NOT mean Double MQMs (Medallion Qualifying Miles) for status, however. Needs clarification, as "Basic" appears to also allow this promo for Platinum cards (not sure if 3 points per dollar then).

My questions are these:
1) Does Delta typically send a confirm email when you've successfully registered? I don't get a confirmation email.
2) Is it possible that I am somehow now "unregistered" or ineligible for this promo (e.g., because the CSRs thought I didn't want it, are mad at me, etc.?)? Rarely - you are probably registered. A call to Skymiles, 1-800-323-2323, should be able to verify if you are registered.
3) What kind of email response quality do you typically get from Delta...? I don't expect much, but I do expect that somebody can read an email and find the point... Form letters, requiring multiple emails. It was stated at the DO that we would like to be able to directly communicate with the Skymiles Customer Service desk and not just by email form or fax.
4) I want to participate in the promo, will be flying NWA branded / NWA/Mesaba operated flights, any recommendations? Per the bonus link, it appears this applies to "on Delta, Northwest, Air France or KLM".

Thanks. I did try...no go. I thought I'd see if there were any other codes out there that were working currently.

A good way to check if your registration went through is to register again...you should get a message that says "YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR THIS OFFER"

Thanks... appreciate it. I did end up calling Skymiles and the person I spoke to told me that it does not appear that I'm registered.

Also, FWIW, I did get a more coherent response from Skymiles via email last night. They stated that I can fly any Delta, NWA, etc. flight, but I need to provide my Skymiles number. Which doesn't make sense to me since the program ends in December and they are merging the programs. And it is definitely not ideal since I am still working on this NWA Platinum challenge with my WorldPerks number.

Oh well.

Thanks for being the "little birdie", eh? You are able to keep up with more of the partner promos than this one post / stickie can. Good complement.

can i combine 2 or 3 DL/NW promos (for SLC>NRT>SGN return) to earn over 50,000 miles?

as a background, i'm somewhat familiar with worldperks (no longer silver elite) but have never flown a delta flight (though i've now also registered with skymiles).

i'm interested in your collective read on if / how / how easily i might be able to combine two particular offers on one flight:

1. delta.com/marketing/double0709
"double bonus miles for every round-trip flight"

AND

2. https://www.delta.com/marketing/inte...al09/index.jsp
which includes both:
"fly from or through these select international cities ... earn 10,000 in Economy Class" (e.g. SLC <-> NRT)
AND
"earn 10,000 [miles] in Economy Class when you fly our new route round trip to/from Ho Chi Minh City/SGN (via connecting service in Tokyo)"

at face value, these suggest to me that if (within both eligibility periods) i were to fly SLC>NRT>SGN>NRT>SLC i could receive as delta reward miles:
- miles flown (approx 16,300 miles)
plus
- double miles flown bonus (approx 16,300 miles)
plus
- 10,000 bonus miles for trying the new SLC <-> NRT route
plus
- 10,000 bonus miles for trying the NRT <-> SGN sector
for a total of: approx 52,600 skymiles.

- am i just pissing in the wind with this? [rhetorical]
- which, if any, part(s) of this won't work?
- what are the possible pitfallls?
- with these two (three?) offers being active and having registered for them, - what's the maximum number of miles i could earn for flying from the western US (i'm based at YVR) through narita to ho chi minh?
- any way (other than in my dreams) that i'd be lucky enough to finangle a NRT stopover of a few days?

if i could get 50,000 (or even 40,000) miles for a one-week trip to vietnam (a place i've never been) for a good price, i'd do it.
the miles earned could be used later for another similar trip to asia, so basically a 2-for-1.
if it works the way i'm hoping it could.

will it work this way?

duh, after reading the offer a second time, i think i've found a major clue:
"Routes cannot be combined. A maximum of 15,000 bonus miles will be credited for each round trip purchased and flown"
... so to double-dip from the promo bowl i'd have to break this itinerary into two seperate round-trip flights? (definitely higher overall pricing but also would definitely allow for a few days in japan) no?

Should probably add the double miles for high fare class bonus to the sticky:
