MSC Cruises

Has anyone sailed on MSC Cruises?
Its an Italian brand, fairly new to the US departures. They have a new ship--the Divina--which is in the Caribbean now. The rates are very competitive and MSC seems to be in the same category as Royal Caribbean.

MSC Divina looks great

Nevermind, USA Today has been chronicling the MSC Divina and it looks fabulous.

We want to go at spring break with children but not be caught on a cruise with 100s of university spring breakers. MSC looks family oriented and does not cater to the party set.

FWIW the few folks I know that sailed on MSC enjoyed the experience but said the European style of service took a little adjusting from Princess or RCI. Mostly the small things like input from waiters, food on the menus, etc. They can be a good value however so worth a try IMHO.

We sailed on the MSC Splendida November 2012 in the Mediterranean. Read a lot of negative reviews but found it OK. I would think the US departures would not be much difference from other lines since the passengers would probably be mainly Americans. Heard that water is provided with no additional charge for cruises sailing out here. Our biggest problem was the water supply at dinner. We only got one coupon per day for a bottle of water at dinner being US passengers (Europeans did not get any). Many people complained about the food but we were fine with the Italian food provided.

MSC Divina 15 March

Thanks. We're going to try MSC's Divina during spring break. We found this deal:

It looks like Carnival and Royal Caribbean have college student groups onboard during the same week. No thank you.

That's an excellent deal for a 7-day cruise. Similar to the one we took, about $600 for a 7-night western med cruise.

FYI, their October 4th 7-day sailing starts from $199 (inside). I'm seriously consider trying MSC out for that rate.

cargo13, this is a great source to compare MSC Cruises 2014-2015 prices by ship
http://www.cruiseshipschedule.com/msc-cruises/
Latest addition to MSC cruise ships fleet is the Preziosa ship (2013), and just like their cargo line is a major player, the cruise line is very affordable as deals and also covers great destinations - including the "golden apple" Caribbean! ))

We've sailed on MSC Splendida in the Med and love MSC. We are booked on the Divina out of Miami this Fall and can't wait. We usually look at prices on Vacationtogo dot com and either book there or through cruise dot com if not a local agent.

Hi,
i think; MSC is always offering some type of deal all the time; so please don't overpay and do some research to find the best deals before you book the cruise. Thank You!
