Costa Favolosa

Has anyone traveled on this ship? Did they have do it yourself laundry? Any tips about anything else?

Here's another source of information. Use the search function on the upper right side.

Costa is a cruise line for chain smoking Europeans. Its a garbage product for most Americans.

I'm not going blind. The Favolosa is a brand new ship. We got a price that we could not pas up. It is summer. We will be outside the majority of time so we don't see a problem with the smoke.
We leave in a month so I'll report back.

You're probably back by now or on your trip...My family and I traveled on the new Fascinosa back in May of this year (had 2 cabins). Having read a number of negative reviews about Costa, I had concerns. Boy was I in for a pleasant surprise. We have cruised extensively for many years; let me report from our perspective. The ship was brand new and absolutely gorgeous. Simply did not encounter the heavy smoke that some have talked about. Did not encounter the rude Europeans that some have talked about. In fact, liked the idea of being on an Italian liner with mainly Italians and other Europeans. Food was excellent. Particularly noteworthy was the fresh fish/seafood. Staff was friendly and helpful. Unless things have changed in the past few months, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I think Costa is really working hard to improve things.

Costa Favolosa

I can't believe I forgot to report back.. The Favolosa was a beautiful ship. We had an inside cabin and it was bigger than any room I have ever had on another ship. The bathroom was much more convenient and the storage in the cabin was great!
Definitely recommend the all-inclusive drink package.
The entertainment was great. We took the Western Med. cruise. One complaint was that the stop in Dubrovnik was so short! You have to take boats into the port so that process eats up time.
For Americans that are bothered by cigarette smoke I wouldn't take this cruise line. There are places where smoking is banned but there are silly rules like you can't smoke right near the pool but if you sit on the outermost chairs, then you can smoke. Sort of like the old days when restaurants had smoking sections. The smoke travels. At least the room didn't smell like smoke.
The rude European thing...I have to admit there were things that bugged me. We are used to waiting in lines. Apparently they are not. The buffet was stressful. I also like my personal space. Several people practically sat on my lap at the pool.
Over all it was a fabulous experience and for the price, it was incredible!
