Free Cruise on the SS Celebration

I saw an advertisement that read, "free cruise". All you have to pay are the port taxes. This ship cruises out of Palm Beach, Florida and goes to Grand Bahama Island. Here's the website http://grandcaribbeancl.com/

I am wondering is this a real cruise. Has anyone ever cruised on the SS Celebration ship just by paying port taxes only? I called them and they told me the port taxes are $59 per person.

Save a few more bucks and do one of the 3-day cruises offered by Carnival, NCL, or Royal Caribbean. They're sometimes as cheap as $99 per person. The reviews of Bahamas Celebration are almost universally awful.

That sounds like Caribbean Cruise Line to me. They're a wholesaler. The actual cruise line is Celebration Cruise Line. I would book direct so you don't get scammed. You have to sit through a timeshare presentation if you do the free cruise. I would recommend reading the reviews about the cruise ship on cruise critic, there are both positive and negative. Hope this helps.

I like to do my own research so I prolonged taking their call until I could research it more. I found out that the numbers they were calling me from were from actual residences. That's clue #1. Clue #2 I saw another website that looked exactly like the one they directed me to. That was enough evidence for me to face them and let them know "not" to call me anymore.

I told the guy what I had found and he hung up on the phone in my face. Wow! And they call themselves a business. NOT!!!

Don't be too discouraged, though. As I noted, you can do a 3-night cruise on the three big boys (Carnival, Royal Caribbean, or NCL) for sometimes as low as $99 per person. That's not too much more than the $59 pp that this cruise would have cost you for 2 nights.

Never -ever fall for a free cruise scam. While some of then may be just timeshare pitches - that is the best-case scenario.

Worst case, you make end up being taken for thousands of dollars.

If a solicitor calls you and says you have won a free cruise - (especially if you entered at a state fair or the like) do not fall for this. They will ask for a credit card for "taxes & fees" and then proceed to bill it for far more than you expected.

Then you will find out all the possible travel dates are restricted (meaning you pay if you want them), that you only have a year to take this cruise, and that even if you do not go you may have your card charged up to a year later for the cruise you did not take - this is in addition to the $1000s they have already billed you for deposits, etc.

Just stay away - there are too many reputable companies out there selling real cruises at bargain prices. Nothing is free.
