word on the street is that the remaining CCs that allow churning are well aware of this and have been for a while, yet have decided not to pull the plug. Whether this will continue or not, who knows, but it seems like they are well aware of this and have contemplated their policy and left it stand.

Usually within 10 day of the close of the billing cycle in which you have met the $250 limit.

Anyhow, Chase had a policy of allowing UAL card churning for a long time--or at least they did nothing to stop it. And, then, one day, last year, they did stop it cold. Brrrrr ...

I'm guessing this is one of the reason's Citi increased their minimum spending from $250 to $750.

I'm OK with the increase to $750 as long as my $250 links still work! Even at the $750, I usually spend that much on the card before moving on anyway.

CandymanJim, do you mean to say that those expired links still work? That is, $250 is all you need to charge to get the 20k miles to post? Thank you for any confirmation you can give us.
Incidentally, last week I was checking citicard.com and, although the MasterCard required $750 in charges, the American Express card required only $250. Two or three days later I checked again, but by then the American Express card had gone back up to $750. So far the $250 requirement has not come back to that card. Anyone else noticed that? Either there was a short-lived mistake (which I failed to immediately take advantage of) or I must have been seeing things.

It looks like the AmEx will be at $750 onward. I too searched for a $250 link, but gave up and applied under the $750 link.

If you are referring to the AA Citi Amex, there are two cards, one with a $250 and the other a $750 minimum purchase requirement to get the bonus.

I've always wondered what "word on the street" is supposed to mean? Some guy you met on the street told you this?
