Applied and approved after telephone recon - asked to reduce limit on another open BoA card (Alaska) and move that line to the Merrill+.
I have two other open BoA cards in addition to the Alaska: a Travel Rewards card and a Cash Rewards card, both of which were product changed from earlier Alaska cards.
No physical card yet but I received two letters via US Mail letting me know I was approved and with info on credit line, APR etc. I feel like if they were going to cancel the card, they would have done it already.
780 FICO. No bank accounts or other balances with BoA or Merrill. Probably 8 apps in the last 12 months across all issuers.

I want to buy ~$650 air ticket. I have 50k+ points.
I want to use only 25k points for this purchase and pay the rest with cash. (This is not how engine works. It takes 25k points for $500 credit and then 15k more points to cover remaining $150.)
Anyone think of way to temporarily move away 25k points (by buying refundable? ticket/hotel/whatever, transferring to family member/different card/etc.)?
This is to remain only $25k in the account and apply only these points to the purchase.

I called ML TravelCenter and they said that they could mix points and cash if you book over the phone (25K for the first $500, cash for the remaining balance).

Yes to both. You have until 11pm next day to cancel for free. Points redeposited into my account instantly. Just make sure you do it within that time frame, because past that time my understanding is you don't get points back but credit with the airline.

How many others here have successfully gotten two M+ cards? My wife and I opened #1 on 1/29/17, and applied for #2 on 3/29/17. Both of us were approved for both cards, giving us 4x 53,xxx points.
My predicament now is, do lower CLs on the cards, cancel them, and reapply again? Or should I stop being greedy and just be happy I was able to get 2 in the first place?

received the denial letter. Called reconsideration - still denied, wouldn't allow credit to be moved. So I opened a Merrill account, deposited 20k and reduced credit on 2 of my cards. Called again, and was approved for 8k. 10 days later, receive another denial letter, and they unapproved me!! At least I didn't receive the card and start spending, and then get it cancelled as some have. Lesson learned - don't wait, jump on offer right away before they change their mind. In beginning, they were handed out easily and some got 2 with no Merrill relationship.

Anyone able to lower the credit limit on this card below $5k? I called today and the CSR said she was unable to. She was happy to lower my cash rewards card to $200, so it wasn't her that was unwilling, she said the system wouldn't let her.
