Closing cards via secure message or other no-hassle methods

Sometimes I want to avoid calling in or even getting retention offers. Mostly because my wife hates calling about cards and I want to make it easy for her.

For Chase cards you can close and rearrange credit limits by secure messages. Very easy.

Any other issuers have an easy way to close out accounts?

I have closed two US Airways accounts with secure messages in the past, no issues here. Same for Capital One as well.

They now have "account closures" as an option in the secure message subject line drop-down menu.

You could always send them a letter. (I know, crazy talk in 2015.)
