As reported on Doctor of Credit:

Current best public offer: 50k points after $4000 spend in 90 days, first year annual fee waived -
https://www.navyfederal.org/loans-cards/credit-cards/offers/flagship-visa-signature.php

Some existing customers are being targeted for 60k offers, either when they log into the NFCU site or via email with the subject "Earn 60K Bonus Points With Flagship".

Points worth 1 cent each. At worst, this is a 2% back card, with bonus categories:

Now earn 3X the points on all travel purchases, including:
  • Airline and Train Tickets
  • Ride-Sharing Services
  • Public Transit
  • Hotel Stays
  • Tolls
  • Car Rentals
  • Parking
Plus, continue to earn 2X points on everything else.

1-15-22 link says current offer is only 30K pts for 3K spend in 90 days. 1.99% interest for 6 mo for BT.

You must be able to qualify for membership in the Credit Union. Most people qualify as military service members or veterans, DoD civilians, or via family members.

I got the AF also, and the website is down again... We will get the AF refunded. Between the CU trying to compete with the big banks by greatly expanding their membership rules and going to the new website there are all kinds of problems with them lately.

Charged the AF yesterday and received a credit for the same amount today. I didn't call NFCU.

This could be helpful in redeeming the points. If you spend $3000 with the 60k bonus, you'll end up with 66k points. 60k points gets you $450 cash or $450 visa card, the remaining 6k points aren't really useful (unless you are buying airfare), if you get up to 69k points, you can redeem for a $500 visa card.

i applied for this card last week and i just got a promo in the mail for the same exact card with 60,000 points but the spend requirement was only $1500 instead of the $3000 that was going around and there was 0% interest until Jan 31, 2014. If you have a navy federal account you may end up getting something in the mail.

Just to follow up on this. I ordered a NFCU Visa gift card with my Flagship Rewards CC. The GC took about a week to arrive. I activated it, set a PIN, and loaded it to Gobank at a Walmart kiosk. No fee on the GC, I got the 2x points on it, no cash advance fee. I assume it will count towards minimum spend, but will post back when those points post.

One note: setting a PIN was a royal PITA. I never could find the proper option on the phone and ended up setting the PIN online. More steps than most GC's.

That probably means that giftcards won't count. They will come up with some reason not to give the points

Interesting. My guess is this is to let chargebacks/returns filter through. The T&C's state "net" purchases, as do most. Or simply they only look once after the 3 months is up. Their CC operation does not seem very sophisticated.

FWIW I got points on my NFCU gift card purchase, as well as other MS. I could spend these now (just checked!). It would be very surprising if they did some kind of manual review to weed out gift cards for the 60k bonus, or if this is even possible. I did note the T&C's state that points are not earned on cash advances, balance transfers, and a bunch of fees. So, gift cards, reloadables, etc. are not explicitly excluded. NFCU also reserves the right to "amend the types of transactions that earn points..." but again all of this is pretty typical.

Keep us posted - I will do the same.

A targeted version of the offer still seems to be valid. As described by ibleed0range, I received the offer in the mail today 60k points after spending $1500. The flyer stated that I had until 31Dec2013 to accept.
