[Expired] Citi ThankYou Preferred 5x Gas/Groceries/Drugstore

I'm looking around for active links to the Citi Thankyou Preferred 5x Gas/Groceries/Drugstore card and the best I've been able to find right now is here:

http://creditcards.citicards.com/usc...EF13609C9B954D

The bonus is small (6k/$300 spend), but in the past few months there have been 15-30k offers from time to time. Anybody find anything better?

The 5x in itself is a great find... I can see myself earning about $3000 to $5000 in cash back using those categories. Citi probably won't be pleased with that and will shut down my account.

Has anyone had success getting a second thank you premier card when you already hold one, other than by the former 2 browser trick? I currently have a citi TY premier, but would really like to apply for this 5x card.

This is a Thank you Preferred card, not a premier card. So if you already have the premier card, I don't see why getting a preferred card would cause a problem.

Has anyone tried and confirmed 5X for a year from the link on first post?

I'm surprised there's so little interest in this development. Is there another thread somewhere?

Prob because no one confirmed 5X after approval yet. My next churn is not till April.

If confirmed it is an interesting offer - even if limited in duration. Still have a lot of room left on BCP for this years groceries and would like to see if they are changing the forward 5x before investing more in TYP.

I got the the card last year and not much was made out of it. First year 5x points from the above categories and the signup was pretty amazing deal.

5x multiplier on those categories for 12 months, 0% for 12 months, and 15K bonus after $1000/3mo is the current offer in all branches.

Hmm, I have not seen it there. Which state are you in ?

OK, it looks you are also in CA. Did you have to ask a clerk at the branch for the offer and apply there ? Were they accommodating to "churners" ?

Because TY points in their current state are probably one of the worst currencies to hold. Just when there was a bright spot with HH transfers, the major devaluation occurred. Yeah you can redeem for airfare (if you have another TYP card) but it's a set dollar amount as opposed to a wide range of values (UR, etc.). There's a reason why not many people go crazy over a 40k TY point sign up bonus.
