US air card

so i signed up for the US air credit card in November and got teh 40k bonus points. I am planning to cancel and re sign up but wanted to see when would be 'appropriate' to get another sign up bonus. would January/Feb time frame be OK? 40k by itself wouldn't do me no good so i need at least about 80k.

thanks in advance !

A whole thread on this card, including discussions about churning. I'm afraid a review of it will lead to the conclusion that this is an entirely YMMV situation, including whether you need to cancel the card before reapplying. Unless you've got an immediate need for the extra points, you might benefit from a little breather, but if you keep the first card, then when you apply, the standard line to give appears to be, "I need two cards so that I can keep my personal spending separate from my business spending" or something to that effect.
