US Bank Reconsideration Line: 800-947-1444
Use this phone number to check your application status as well. US Bank does not send you an approval/denial email. Many data points show 8-10 business days for decision is normal. Add another 2-3 weeks after that to receive physical card.

U.S. Bank Fraud Department - 800-260-8469. This is the number to call if your card starts getting declined when you try to make a purchase.

Why is the balance due on my business card always shown as $0?
There are TWO account numbers linked to your business card: The card itself, which shows up in the same website account as any personal cards you may have. This will always show a $0 balance due.

There is a SECOND account - labeled the "Central Bill Account" - with its own account number. You must set up a separate website account with its own username and password to access the Central Bill Account. This is the account that will actually show the balance due and let you schedule a payment. Somewhere in the paperwork you received with the card or the first paper invoice, you should be able to find the Central Bill Account's number.

Setting up separate website account for business card:

These are the instructions that US Bank emailed me:

To enroll in Online Banking for your U.S. Bank Business account, start by going to usbank.com. You do not need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in order to enroll.

Please follow these instructions to enroll in Online Banking to view or pay your account:

1. Click on the Enroll Now link on the right side of the screen.
2. Select the Business Accounts option.
3. View the Terms and Conditions and then select Enroll Now.
4. Select I do not have a U.S. Bank small business checking or savings account.
5. Select I am an authorized officer of a U.S. Bank Business Credit Card.
6. Complete Step 2 of 2.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be able to view your business account in its entirety. When you are making a payment you will need to select the Accounts Payable account number.

Until the end of May 2015: "Bonus Award Night - Redeem Gold Points for two or more consecutive Award Nights and the last night is free. Exclusively for cardmembers.

From June 1 2015: free night after $10,000 spend in a year plus payment of annual fee. Note: can only be used in the U.S.

"New Account Bonus is not available to applicants who have had this Card or another Club Carlson credit card product within the last 12 months."

Forex fee is 3%

I know the CFPB won't do anything unless they receive a certain number of complaints, which is why I am encouraging people to file complaints. Sort of like the DOT/United Denmark premium fare debacle…if you want the government to issue a response, a lot of people need to complain.
you can post your reply on CFPB saying you were not satisfied. Say you wasted credit inquiry and $75 becos they sold this card to you for bonus award night and the offer says" enjoy all this after paying $75 annual fee". Include the card member agreement which mentions the bonus award night for $75. Call the Exec team and read to them the card agreement that says "enjoy all this benefit after paying $75 annual fee"

The last time i read this to a senior supervisor( not the exec team yet) she became speechless and offered 15k points right away!
But 15k points is NOTHING compared to the bonus award night benefit I paid the fee for and wasted credit inquiry for. Most of their motels require 28K points or more a night. So I am expecting annual fee refund any moment

I fully intend to dispute the Bank's response. 7,500 points is a PITTANCE compared to the benefit being withdrawn. I argued with the lady for a while. She kept blaming it on club carlson, but I told her that I didn't really care who withdrew the benefit, US Bank is the one who I have the contractual relationship with, and also to which I paid the annual fee. I also mentioned that US Bank signs a contract with club carlson to issue this card. If US Bank didn't adequately protect itself (and customers) from club carlson changes by contract, that is on US Bank, not its customers. US Bank should be the one losing the annual fee.

I called us bank to make a complaint. I kept arguing with the phone rep until she said she'll refund my annual fee back (not in my account yet). Then she transferred me over to club carlson customer service which is club carlson itself not us bank. I argue with them too until they offered me 15,000 points. I think I can keep calling us bank to argue until somebody offers me a points bonus too. I don't think us bank would now club carlson gave me points already and vice versa.

Well I am totally steamed. I got royally screwed in timing (my first annual fee charged same day email went out canceling the promo) so I have barely enough time to get my sign up bonus and can only speculatively use the benefit.

When I call US Bank a nice rep put in me in touch with a supervisor lady who gave me no compensation and then proceeded to give me attitude like a 16 year old when I told her their justification was nonsense. They basically told me because they promised A, B, and C when I signed up, even though they got rid of A immediately, I had no reason to complain because I was still getting B and C...

To add insult to injury, I get my first statement bill a few days later and it came with a pamphlet about the card benefits, and you guessed it, the main benefit listed was the bonus award night.

Okay congratulations US Bank, you did it. You got me with your despicable advertisement and a well time bait and switch and now you won't waive the 75 dollars CONGRATS. I was going to use your product normally and thought a relationship with US Bank might be valuable, but now you've defined the kind of relationship we're going to have with your deceit and disinterest. So now I will make sure I am an unprofitable customer and milk my annual fee and some back from your organization. /end rant

I called US Bank and complained last night. Agent offered annual fee back for both personal and biz cards without esclating.

I would also love some points compensation. What is the best way to do now, ask US Bank again and/or complain to CFPB?

After I complained to us bank customer service and got my annual fee refunded, they transferred me to Club Carlson customer service. Trying calling club carlson itself, they wouldn't know us bank refunded your fees.

Lucky you to get an accommodating agent who also has the power to issue refund.

The first agent I got, insisted the 40K annual bonus was enough. HUCA. The second agent I got offered 2500 pts. Asked to speak to a supervisor who quickly offered the now standard 7500 pts but insisted he could not refund the annual fee which was billed and paied in Dec.

Can you get some compensation points and/or have the $75 AF waived before it hits your statement? I have not received a first statement yet since I just got the card.

Between my significant other and I, we both have 2 cards each and I wrote a letter to US Bank and was able to get the annual fees refunded and was able to get the 7500 points bonused on all cards.

I was actually kind of surprised they offered to cover the annual fees on the older cards since the new annual fees will be hitting on those in June.

I applied for this card a few months ago and got pending; called a day later and was denied for "too much activity in the last six months" but was told if I waited six months and applied again I would be approved. At the time I had 5 apps in the last six months (4 were in the last 3 months, credit score in the 800s).

Now three months later, I froze ARS and IDA and applied again. Pending again, but I didn't call this time. 6 apps in the last six months (0 in the last 3 months). I've been checking my club carlson account every day to start a points reservation to see if it says I have the visa. A week later, I can see I have been approved. I guess I must have some mail on the way from US Bank.

Big thanks to all those who did the research on how to get approved for this card!

I had a decent amount of regular spending on the Club Carlson card in the first 5 months, but not the last 5. Has anyone in this situation been able to get points or fee compensation? It sounds like there are various offers of 2500-7500 points.

I had my husband sign up for this card on 3/27, just a few days before the changes were announced. There was an issue with our address, so we just got the card in the mail yesterday. I activated it, and noticed that the first statement closed yesterday, before we even had a chance to make a first purchase. The next statement will close on 5/18, leaving less than two weeks for the points to post and for us to make a booking with the last night free.

Called customer service twice today - first time I asked if it would be possible to change the billing date in order for the points to post. The rep said no, the dates were locked in. The second call, I expressed that I was very disappointed, and that the welcome letter I received with the card even states in bold font the last night free benefit. I asked for the annual fee to be refunded, and the rep said the only way to do so would be to close the account before 5/17 - so no chance to earn the sign up bonus. I even asked for points to compensate for the lost benefit, and she quoted the 40k anniversary bonus. Ugh.

Wondering if I should HUCA now, file a CFPB complaint, or wait a while. I'll probably meet the spend by the end of the weekend. Has anyone had success in having the billing date changed? Any tips to get the annual fee refunded?
