Some of us still earn Delta miles with this card or may want information about past or grandfathered terms and conditions.

Please do not spread panic about miles not posting until after the 10th of each month.
In most cases, miles post in the evening on the 5th of each month if it's a business day, or else the evening of the next business day. "Miles post for purchases made between (inclusive) 5th day of prior month to 4th day of current month."

the page hosting the deal won't load for me, so I have a question if anyone can answer:

if you have your mortgage through Suntrust, would that waive the minimum balance fee?

    Authorized User?

Do we have any idea whether or not adding authorized user cards will earn miles on those cards as well?

Is 30k the most I can squeeze out of this?

It appears that way...and to think I missed out on the last bonanza by a week (I didn't hear about it)...30k is nice but the minimum account balance is tough.

Or do I understand wrong? Any checking account gets the 30k Delta?

30K is what you will squeeze out of it, if you a) do the first purchase and b) sign up for direct deposit. You have the potential to earn more, point per dollar, on check card purchases w/signature as well as on PIN transactions hitting the "credit" button. So, it basically works the same as earning points on Chase Visa, Delta Amex, etc. No transfer bonuses like w/Amex MR.

No, only the SunTrust accounts listed in post #32 get the 30K Delta (with fee, of course).

And they are super rigid about the minimum balances: mine dropped to 2800- on one day, went back up to $6000 plus the next day, and I still got hit with the monthly maintenance fee

Does the direct deposit have to be from a gov check or an employer? Trying to get around that. Thanks!

For those of you with TDBank branch near you, you may want to open up a small business checking account (I think it is called TDBank Business Direct).

They offer free payroll direct deposits via ACH to any US bank accounts.

I have an LLC and used that account many times to satisfy the payroll direct deposit requirement.

The checking account requires $1500 daily balance to avoid monthly fees.

RE>$75 plus possible monthly fees are worth 30K Delta miles to you.
And what additional opportunities are you referring to AlohaDaveKennedy?

Elizadoo, what other bank promotions, non-SunTrust, are you referring to?

2009 and 2010 were just too much fun, and it would be a shame not to jump in for another 55,000 miles from SunTrust Bank.

    Thank you,

I signed up for one last September and I currently reside in Wisconsin. I did it online and they had no problems giving one to me.

However, when we were in Atlanta two weeks ago and I wanted to add my husband to the account, they would NOT issue him a SunTrust Delta Check Card even though we would have paid the annual fee again for his, too. They said it was because they aren't issuing the card to our account level anymore, but it's the same as this promotion.

Have to say that doesn't sit well with me from a customer service standpoint. I guess I'll just have him open his own account to get this bonus, and then we'll close it out.

I'm very tempted. I currently have the US Debit card and that's going away. I also haven't been very happy with Bank of America. But still, I don't like the $75 fee or the small footprint Suntrust has.

I just signed up through chat with Donna. She informed me that the monthly maintenance fee was waived for the first two months. I signed up for the Balance Banking account (which has the lowest fees), so I'm not sure if this applies to the other checking account options as well.

    30K x 2

Just signed up via online chat. Rep said that existing accounts qualify and that my existing direct deposit will qualify.

Rep said that Delta Skymiles # must be unique for every account. Said my 2 yr old daughter was eligible as long as she got a joint account with parent and unique Delta SM #.
