As far as I know, you can only open one personal account. Nothing precludes you from also opening a business account, a personal account for your spouse, or a business account for your spouse.

Better to use ST these days for a longer term business relationship than trying to establish a debit card farm.

Here is my recent experience with this Suntrust deal:
Went into my local branch hoping to get some clarifications on the deal. The women who work in this particular branch were easy on the eyes, but did not have a clue when it came to the products that Suntrust offers. Some of my questions were:
Q1- I have an existing 3 year old business account that previously received a bonus from Delta. I no longer have the Delta check card for this account. Can I just add the Delta check card to this existing account?
A1-"You mean you can get Skymiles with a business account?"
Q2 - Can I just open a new, personal account and "link" my business account to the new account, in order to avoid the monthly fees?
A2 - "No, business is always separate." (Correct answer IS no, but I don't think she understood what I was asking)
Q3 - What are the fees for the personal accounts? Maybe I will just open a personal account....
A3 - "Wait - let me get my sheet..."
After about 10 minutes of ME feeling uncomfortable with how clueless she was, I just said that I will check online and get back with her.
So I went home and decided to call.
Called Suntrust and asked to verify that an existing business account could just "order" the check card and get the Skymiles. The first lady wasn't able to answer the question. She was snotty, arrogant, and rude. She talked over me at times. Asked for another agent 5X (really) and then got hung up on. Called back again. This time when someone answered on the business side, I immediately asked for a supervisor. After talking with him for 5 minutes about what I wanted to do (and reporting the previous incident), I got to the truth of the matter:
An existing business account in which Skymiles were issued at any time in the past WILL NOT QUALIFY for the current Skymiles bonus. He went on to explain that the Suntrust computer system recognizes the Skymiles number, and if it sees a number that has previously been used, the bonus will not be issued.
So that is what I was told, simple and true. He suggested that I go back to Delta, get a new Skymiles number issued before I do anything.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the Skymiles from the monthly debit card purchases to post? I made several debit card transactions in May on a new account I opened in May and the points haven't hit my Delta account yet.

For those of you whose accounts were closed by Suntrust (without explanation), can you please share what you had done with the account prior to closure? This would help us figure out what happened, and what to avoid doing.
For example:
Did you transfer money into/out of the account with Paypal?
Did you have a very low balance?
How much activity did you have on the account before they closed it?
Did you have multiple checking accounts at the same address? If so, were they joint accounts?
Did you interact with customer service after the account was opened? (For example, inquiring about when the miles would post.)
There must be some common patterns that Suntrust has decided to look for to determine who the gamers are.
For example:
